You have to apply! First do an on-line search for scholarships, grants, and loans in general, and in the field in which you are particularly interested. Go for scholarships and grants first, because you don't have to pay those back. There are many which go begging every year because people don't apply for them. Then e-mail the institution which administers the program for details about the application process.

Sometimes getting money for school is as easy as simply writing a letter. When I was in college, my father wrote a letter to a local congressman seeking help in finding financial aid for me at the end of my freshman year of college because I had excellent grades, but my family couldn't afford the tuition. As a result, I received a state merit scholarship for the following year which covered all of my tuition. All we had to pay for were the books and supplies I needed. So don't give up. Persistence always pays off in the end.

It may depend on the state you live in. In our state we have certain LOANS and GRANTS, and also have access to federal money helps.

The best thing for you to do is talk to a high school guidance counselor!

Check into GRANTS also....these are not loans, but free money for schooling. You may qualify for several grants as well as several loans.

If you want financial aid, here's an application: http://www.fafsa.us/index.htm

If you want an actual loan, I would ask your guidance counselor, and perhaps ask at the bank.
