When dogs are in heat, it is usual for them to shed more hair than usual, especially in the summer months. My german shepherd is long haired anyway, she is in heat at the moment and sheds enough hair to stuff a cushion daily!! I wouldn't worry about it at all.
Remember, if you are not thinking of breeding your dog, it is better for her and everyone else if you get her spayed! I would do this after she has finished this first season.

It should be OK this is the time of year a lot of dogs are shedding out their winter coat and it shouldn't have anything to do with the heat.
do watch her the males can smell a female in heat for about 5 miles away so expect visitors. If possible it is best for her to be walked during her heat which last about 3 weeks.
Good Luck

Give your pet about 1/3 teaspoon of the liquid "CORN" oil shortening 1 X daily. This will stop the shedding and bring out a beautiful coat.

My dog is shedding a lot right now too. It's normal, they're just losing their winter coat. You'll just have to brush more than usual. Hope this helps!

I prefer hair that will is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like females are more often then not directly, they like long hair because this looks more feminine, as most men have short hair.

Don't worry about the hair, worry about it getting a mess everywhere and getting with another dog you don't want it to mate with. Get it spayed as soon asp. Ask vet.

The fur loss could be due to small bugs biting him, this is pretty likely if you leave him outside, if this is the case I had to ask for an itch relief spray from my vet.
