It is very individual to the couple. The men often wear tuxes. The ladies sometimes do, too. The couples often match each other is style, fabric, cut or color, but not always.
Many couples, straight or gay, now include readings. Often, I take you to be my "beloved wife" is changed for "partner in life."
The basic structure is similar, as the goal is the same. Standing up in front of friends and family and declaring your intent to love this person for ever.
