I am in my second marriage. My first ended due to abuse after four years. I have been married to my best friend for the past 14 years and it has done nothing but get stronger and stronger each day. This is the man I should have married from the get go but I was so afraid of losing my best friend if things did not work out. My friendship to him was more important than having a relationship with him at the time. When I look back, it may not have been our time just yet.

My husband and I have been married for 25 years. It has been rocky at times, but our willingness to work on it, and be honest with each other (it takes 2) has made it work. The last 10 years have been fabulous! One thing that made it work for us, and made us work for it was that when we were first together, we lived several hundred miles apart, and only saw each other every 3-6 weeks. This lasted for about a year, and that year gave us the insight of what is was like not to be together. It has been worth it. There are a lot of people out there, many who seem attractive at times, but if you switched partners, the difficult parts would surface eventually, and whatever you weren't willing to work on the first time will come back.

Married for 6 years in October. I often wonder how much longer it can/will last. It's good enough sometimes to keep us together, for now.

I was married for 22 years (1970-1992) and then my husband buggered off with another woman. I survived and have been with my present partner for 12 years. He would like us to live together and/or get married. However, I have become very independent and like living my own life, in my own space. I wouldn't like to get married again.

It will be 44 years in March provided my wife is here. The last two years it have grown much stronger then ever before. It was good 99% of the time before, you just learn what's really important when your going to lose someone.
