Definitely not.

I know of a saying: There is a test to find out if your task in life is complete. If you are still alive, then your task is not finished.

I'd say it's definitely not too late. If you're not satisfied with your career right now, you need to zero in on the reason. Without knowing yourself you'll never find your true career. Perhaps it's time to run your own business. Or, perhaps it's time to venture into that field you've always wanted to but felt intimidated by. Whatever the case, if you're feeling dissatisfied then it's time to do something. Bear in mind though, it will be a new page in your life. Sacrifices will probably have to made, eg. education and training. But we all know it isn't worth having if you don't have to fight for it. Follow your spirit.

The decision to stick with any career may have more to do with your attitude than the career itself.

If you object to being told what to do by others, then you're more suited to self employment. If you're unwilling to sell, market and service your own company, then you're doomed to charity.

Write down all the things that you have tried before and why they didn't pan out the way you wanted them to.

KB---lets answer your question with a question--OK What will be your financial status be in 2028 when Social Security is done??? A career is not for eveybody---it is a good way to secure a pay check with health and pension. . Gamblers playing texas holdem--have no career. They win or lose and continue to live a ruff life. If they know their business they pocket millions. They save money and a lot of it is hidden from evil forces. If you are a floater or drifter when it comes to employment---better be making a wheel barrow full of money. Wait till your 35 and you may be excluded from some pention plans---55 retirement age. Its your life how do you want to handle the employment....

I had a successful career in office work & sales until I was 32 when I went into a completely different field. I have been in that field ever since gaining my diploma in my chosen field at the age of 48! I am now director of my own brand new company. So my answer is no - you can change, retrain and rise to the top of your field from the ripe old age of 33!

not at all
college graduated
journalism for a few years. Worked on newspapers.
Then went to the public transit agency in NJ for 23 years.
Now, live in Paradise as a customer service representative.
33 is not old. You will get your 20-25 years for the pension and then you can do what I did take a less job and enjoy the daily sunsets.

it is NEVER too late to find your calling. remember the story a few months ago about the ninety-something year old woman who graduated from fort hays state university this spring in hays, KS? it made her the oldest graduate in the world, and he was in the same graduating class as her granddaughter. if she wasnt too old to get her degree, what makes you think you're too old to get the right job? just remember that when you're job searching, really try to find something that meets all the criteria for your experience and is something you would at least enjoy halfway. don't jump on a sucky career just b/c it makes $10 thousand more a year.

I am 33 and I am in between jobs. I worked in the telecom and foodservice industries. However, I have my marketing degree. I was able to use my mktg degree when I worked in foodservice. I am patiently waiting to hear back from an interview that I had this past week, which is in the furniture industry. Its never to late to find your true calling.
