Any untimely death is a sad event. How much worse is it to lose someone in a war started under false pretenses?

I assume you are speaking of the dead servicemen arriving home, I work as a Aeromedical staging technician, we move the wounded warriors from planes downrange to hospitals and then to the next flight home.
The deceased are treated with reverance here, all traffic stops on the flightline, and we hold a ceremony for every deceased person who goes through this European base on the the runway apron.

As a US veteran, it appears you have learned nothing about the Islamic jihad and where it will go if we don't draw a line in the sand. Unfortunately, war seems to be the only way to keep this movement away from our own turf, and even that isn't a given, but it does send a message to these ragheads, that we will destroy them, as they try to destroy us.
Remember, we are not invading countries or trying to take away other peoples land. We are there protecting the infiltration of foreigners in Afghanistan and Iraq, until these governments are able to protect themselves.
If diplomacy were an option, we would be actively pursuing it, but it doesn't seem to be, because this enemy is hidden. He won't reveal himself, because he is a coward. He knows that he will be destroyed, once he surfaces, but this will not happen if the democrats take over government, here!

It was just as sad for the people who went to get their loved ones from the civilian structures in New York. Especially when the total of those remains were contained in a sponge. Maybe you forgot what it was like for ordinary Americans to sit helplessly and watch while people had to choose between burning to death on the 93rd floor or falling to a messy quick death.
3,000 Americans died that day, not over four years. Those people didn't ask for it, couldn't fight back, deserved better. They certainly deserve to be remembered longer than the World Series scores.
Remember, no matter who is in the White House, the terrorist will still attack. If our boys come back from Iraq, the attacks on our home country will begin again. Then you'll be wondering why the military isn't doing anything about it.
ADDED: Amazing. People giving me Negative votes for pointing out that dead civilians is as bad as dead soldiers. Apparently, politics is more impotant than compassion.

Not soon enough. We'll likely have to wait until the next election to see any real changes happen.
