Remember begging your mom for this or that at the grocery store?

She would always say no to this or that that I wanted. Now, if I want want some crazy kinda cereal, cinamon rolls, or even an icecream cake -- I can get it!! :)

I have found that after I went to college and had to start buying my own groceries I would be eating LESS of that stuff because I didn't have that much money to play around with and couldn't ask my mom : (

I still like to splurge sometimes though :)

I can't believe you said that. I feel that way all the time. It's funny when you are waiting in line at the grocery store and a kid asks his mom for some candy and she says no. Sometimes I will reach over and grab one and buy it just to celebrate the fact that I can. I feel a little bad when I look at my cart and it contains so much junk food. I scope the carts around me and see veggies and health food and I'm buying Pop Tarts and soda. Great question!

Not too much. I'm diabetic, so that pretty much limits things right off the bat.

Of course, in the US, your garbage disposal eats better than most of the people in the world.

I think more about how fortunate I am that we have so many options versus people in other countries who have limited to no choices (in food, rights, etc.)

Plus, I see my parents' point of view better now. How certain things are expensive and not worth it.

i used to love getting stuff my parents would never allow me to get. bring on the chocolate and alcohol! and then i started missing the stuff they used to stock up on. now i find myself reaching for muesli more than ben & jerrys. pathetic. but i guess after a while we do become our parents. gross thought, but it's true. living is the great equalizer

I think it's pretty cool too, but it gets boring when you have to think about what to buy to cook for a meal, and also when it gets to the checkout ... :(

i understand your sentiments. but when we are loaded with cash earning capacity, we tends to take things for granted, its only when we are empty pocket for prolong periods we will realized how blessed it is to be able to buy a simple meal. cheers. thus i do.
