This doctrine of the material efficacy of prayer reduces the Creator to a cosmic bellhop of a not very bright or reliable kind.

No. Wrong. The first step takes place in your heart. Anyone can say anything. It gets you nowhere. According to Acts 2:38, to be saved we must:
1) repent
2)be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
3) we will then receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (the proof of which is speaking in a foreign tongue)

Unlike all of us who are very easily distracted by what's on the outside, God can see down to the very depths of our souls. Prayer, and especially a prayer for salvation, given from a heart that is not humbled, can't help you to receive anything.

I know a lot of people who have tried... and died. If it's worked for anyone, please let me know too, so I can get knee pads! ;)

Who wants to live forever? I have very few wrinkles now, but I am sure if I lived to be... let's say, over 200 yrs old- yuck!

Life is short, make it sweet.

Sorry, I just have a good laugh. That remind me of the asylum I've visited previously.

Seriously, you don't have to do that. Just submit yourself to Him, He will show you His mercy.

You do NOT have it right.
Your body position means diddly-squat!
It is your heart condition that matters.

Some will tell you so, but there is much more involved in it than that.
