I have an RCA dvd player and i accidently pressed progrresive scan and now i have a blank screen i tried the manual to reset it but it didnt work please help or ill have to call for support and pay out the nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try unplugging it for 20 minutes. If interlaced scan is the default, this may restore that factory setting.

The instructions in the manual should work.

a) Try to see if there is a button on the remote control
b) See if there is button in the back or in the front

If no buttons
Disconnect the component cable from both sides and connect the composite (yellow plug) output. If you don't have another cable, just use the "green" from component.
This should allow you to go to the system menu and change the video settings to interlaced.

Then go back and reconnect your component cables.

It may be as simple as making sure that there are NO discs in the player when you reset or disable the progressive mode feature.
Older Sony players had this NO disc requirement before you could disable the feature.
