Yes, but it was God's appointed archangel "Michael" who actually did the deed.
True Christians (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) recognize that Satan and his demons have been "punished" by their alienation from God. The bible speaks of them being in a prison-like state of dense spiritual darkness which it calls "Tartarus".
(2 Peter 2:4) God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tartarus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment
(1 Peter 3:19-20) the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient when the patience of God was waiting
In 1914, the demons were ejected from heaven. They would no longer be permitted to associate with faithful angels, but would introduce a level of debauchery and violence that would cause "woe" such as humanity had never before experienced.
(Job 1:6) The sons of the true God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them.
(Revelation 12:7-9,12) Michael and his angels battled with the dragon [Satan], and the dragon and its angels battled but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. ...On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

To answer just the question you asked then yes I do. I do not know what you are on about with the rest of what you are saying.
Is God being cruel? No, it means that He has cleansed heaven of Satan and his demons. Which is actually good news because then God's next step is to cleanse the the earth. Being thrown to the vicinity of the earth is bad news for Satan as the scripture in Revelation reads:
(Revelation 12:12) . . .On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time. . .
Satan knows his time is drawing to a close. God will keep his promises of cleansing the earth of wickedness.
Instead of it being cruel it is the sign of a happy future coming for all of creation.

Yes..except it wasnt like they were "thrown out"...there was a rebellion in the heavens..an uprising..it was immediately squashad..you would not allow your beloved children to rise up and take over the house and make new rules...so why would you be suprised that the true creator and savior of the world would not allow it in his realm of authority.
upon being "cast down" the wicked ones desires never changes...he still wanted to rule something..so the eternal ones newest addition to the family was the obvious target.."US"...all that is holy and righteous..has a counterfiet of itself..a false copy...the original man has a false copy of himself as well as our creator and only true savior has false copies...god , jeezuz and the devil are all one in the same..vague false words and names with no substance form or meaning...god means..budda alla mercury zuess and all many more....the devil loves christians because they serve jeezuz and not the true creator who is a single power..so when you praise a so called hebrew messiah with a greek name..with no historical record outside of the new testament..instead of the one who made you and told you to be called by "his" name..you are doing the devils work..when you run around saying jeehova and god..instead of the true name of our mighty power..its like commiting idolatry and adultry...just imagine if your name is suzy..and your husband is saying I love you jenny...you are going to correct him..even though your kids may call you daddy..when they school calls your house..they dont say..may I speak to daddy..they call your name to identify you with your child...now the greek name iosus/jeezuz/son of zeuss.....nor the germaic name gutten/god...does not identify us with our creator....and stubborn hearts and ignorant minds refuse to acknowlege this clear and evident truth...because...satan is here on the earth giving the whole world a counterfiet bill....No nation on the earth worships the most high creator..and the signs of judeo christianity are famine...poverty..sickness..slavery..and death all over the world...which is no different than satan worship or so called aitheism...all the work of the rebellious angels who were cast down..cant you tell thier here..look at the earth the sky the water and the people...opwn your eyes and see!

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
