Okay I heard about this and I thought it was crazy. I thought that I would just get juice in my eyes and burn them. I get migranes and sinus headaches often. One day I was in so much pain I was desperate and I happened to have a lime in the fridge. So I tried it and to my shock it worked. Nearly instantaneously the throbbing in my head went away. My husband has tried it too - after laughing at me of course. It worked for him too. We are trying to figure out if it is the cold or if there is something in the lime juice that is actually doing something. I have put ice and cold things on my head for headaches in the past and it has done nothing for the pain. Does anyone know what property/chemical composition in the limes is taking away the pain? We have been joking that it is the "magic" in the limes but I would really like to know.

i would have to say the juice for the lime is strong enough to open up your sinus....

i read if you cut an onion in half and heated for five minutes in the microwave. ( if you had an ear ache) then hold is against your ear. and the sulfure from the onion will take away the pain.. it did not work. all it did was scald my ear, that besides having an each ache my outer ear was scallded from the hot onion. It said the onion had to be hot in order for the sulfer to be released....

It did work for me on yet another of my killer tension neckaches/headaches that had lasted all day, which hadn't responded to the usual Excedrin etc. Maybe the vitamin C, which boosts iron absorption, does something to stimulate the circulation and reroutes some blood volume away from (or toward) the headache area? I have noticed (insert joke here) that having a beer sometimes will help relieve this headache also, and I am not a habitual drinker, so I think it has something to do with vasodilation. Just a guess.

Usually head aches are caused by tension and rubbing limes
on your fore head could be sociological but it will not give relief.Best eat the lime and get the vitamin C benefit.

rubbing alcohol or Vick's applied to the anal region also makes you forget about a headache.
