I agree with you completely. My mother was a catholic until she realized what you're commenting on right now.
Catholicism has been around much longer than any other denomination so it has had more time to be corrupted. Not only that it has been influenced by pagan religions.
I mean no insult to Catholics- it's the simple truth. I happen to know many Catholics who believe in God and Catholicism. But nonetheless, their religion is flawed.

No, Christianity is real and Catholicism is confused.
1. Catholics do not worship Mary; they pray to her because they believe we can still talk to Christians after they die, and they believe her special role in our salvation makes her worth talking to.
2. A statue is not an idol, not even if you look at it or touch it while praying. An idol is an image of a false god: (a) saints are not gods, not even to Catholics, and (b) statues of Jesus are acceptable because the rule against images of God was based on God not having a physical body.
3. Most Christians believe that God can work through human beings. Catholics believe God works through human beings to choose their leader.
I agree that Catholics have serious problems, but you don't help anyone when you get your facts wrong.

The most crucial problem with the Roman Catholic Church is its belief that faith alone in Christ is not sufficient for salvation. The Bible clearly and consistently states that receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, by grace through faith, grants salvation (John 1:12; 3:16,18,36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10,13; Ephesians 2:8-9). The Roman Catholic Church rejects this. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that a person must believe in Jesus Christ AND be baptized AND receive the Eucharist along with the other sacraments AND obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic Church AND perform meritorious works AND not die with any mortal sins AND etc., etc., etc. Catholic divergence from the Bible on this most crucial of issues, salvation, means that yes, Catholicism is a false religion. If a person believes what the Catholic Church officially teaches, he/she will not be saved. Any claim that works or rituals must be added to faith in order for salvation to be achieved is a claim that Jesus’ death was not sufficient to fully purchase our salvation.

Your not a Catholic are you?
Catholics do not worship Mary, we consider her on the level of the apostles we have, but she was a litle better than that because she was the mother of god, how could we not love her for that. We pay her more respect than other christians do, but theres peculiarities like that in ever religion.
Any statues we have are statues of people that are closely associated with god himself. Jesus was gods only son, Mary was the mother of Jesus, ect. We pray through these statues and others to god. These people and statues have no power without god. These are not false idols, nor are they golden calfs. For the most part each of these people represents some sort of virtue we should emmulate. I dont see how this can be bad as long as they are chosen for their divine connection to god himself.
Ah the Pope........ I guess you missed CNN's back to back coverage of the Papal Conclave when Benedict was chosen, otherwise you wouldnt be asking this. The Pope is chosen by the Bishops of the church who pray and meet to figure out who should lead the church. The Bishops ask for gods guidance in chosing the Pope. Its not like the Pope just choses this for himself. Most religions believe that god can channel himself through humans, so I dont find it to be too much of a strech to believe that god can channel himself through bishops to choose the leader of the church. The pope isnt assigned any supernatural powers, and we do not consider him to be a god, he is a man who leads the church who is chosen by god through the bishops. As proof that the pope is not all powerful there is no gurantee that the pope will become a saint.
Now that I have those arguments aside let me just say that all religions are what their followers make them out to be. god works through people and if that produces a religion that expresses love and humanity then I think it worked. I think its kind of funny that people are so wary of catholicism at time, even though catholics are the single biggest denomination of any religion in the world.

The Catholic religion is supposively Christian. However,I do believe it to be part of 'Babylon the Great'.
It's practices and teachings are contrary to the Bible.Their teachings stem from pagan beliefs, customs and celebrations, with some man made doctrines thrown in.
I used to be a Catholic and thanks to my God,Jehovah I have found the one true religion - Jehovahs Witnesses. This is the only religion that uses the Bible as the only source for all its beliefs.Witnesses live their lives in accord with Bible principles. No other religion comes close.

There was a time when the Church of England was the only allowable Christian belief. Before that time, it was Catholic. Which implies that mankind feels safer worshipping in large groups. Perhaps for protection? If so then they aren't really trusting God are they.

The Catholic Church, much like Jesus, and the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the purest form that the mind of God could conceive of, in order to successfully bring about the high purpose and the eternal destiny for which mankind was created.
And while the bible is indeed the inerrant, inspired written word of God, your apparent ignorance is excellent proof that Jesus was absolutely correct when he appointed and authorized his universal (Catholic) Church (and not the bible) to be the only designated guide to salvation, for everyone, until the end of time.
Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and enlightenment ... and please tell him that I sent you.

1. Catholics do not worship Mary, but she is honored because she is the human mother of Jesus.
2. Christian art, whether in the form of statues, stained glass, icons or religious symbols, is meant to bring people's focus to God. These items, in the home or in a worship space, bring the mind back when it wanders.
3. Do you not believe that God can inspire people? In your own church, don't people pray for guidance? Does God send a telegram to give them the answer or does God inspire them?
All your points are moot.;

Yes. The Roman Catholic Church contends that its origin is the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ in approximately 30 A.D. The Catholic Church proclaims itself to be the Church that Jesus Christ died for, the Church that was established and built by the Apostles. Is that the true origin of the Catholic Church? On the contrary. Even a cursory reading of the New Testament will reveal that the Catholic Church does not have its origin in the teachings of Jesus, or His apostles. In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy, worship / adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-redemptrix and mediatrix), petitioning saints in Heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences, or the equal authority of church tradition and Scripture.

Without a doubt, Mary was a virgin who gave birth to Jesus, the son of God. Ok she raised Jesus but so what. The bible says thou shall not emulate him and there is no other gods,
God grants us forgiveness. John 3:16 For those who ever shall believe in me shall not perish but have ever lasting life. It doesn't say, vote for some man you/ll call the pope. give that organization your hard earned money then give a Hell shout out to my mom. Mary,,,, No he did not. If you know the bible, you don't need any other prof than that.
