your wording is far too general, unless you wish to imply that no atheist can ever hold the answer to any 'spiritual question', whatever the hell that is.

Define spiritual question.

Many of the things people claim are spiritual questions here are simple question of logic, reason, scientific fact or morality. None of these are especially spiritual and none qualify for some sort of immunity that should protect them from the critique of those who do not share an in-group common (and often unjustified) viewpoint.

Many of these so called spiritual questions also relate to issues that cause harm or lead to actions that cause harm to others. To take an example that arises often here, the mistreatment and bigotry aginst people born gay. To claim that this human rights abuse should be free from outside critique because it is "spiritual" is unacceprtable and - to steal a spiritual word - pure evil.

Finally, spiritual questions often claim to spring from interpretation of the bible. This is a book in the public domain, and there is no reason that those who do not ascribe to a particular dogma should not form views on what it says. After all, the same book has led to countless mostly incompatible factions within Christendom.

I would not necessarily say presume, to expect a non-believer, like me to just accept a spiritual answer or simply because it is just that is hard to actually accept without any kind of proof or reasonable proof. One could say how can the same thing about believers; how can a believer know about god and things like that when each person in religious denominations have different opinions on the concept of god.

Do atheists really think they know the answers to spiritual questions? Perhaps they have "faith" that they do know the answers. Isn't faith what gives all people, including a spiritual person, the courage to believe, what they believe?
We often refer to "faith" as a religeous term but faith is not exclusive to the spiritual, or the religeous. I know for myself, that besides faith in my religeous beliefs, I have faith that the sun will rise every morning; that I will inevitably have to pay a tax; that I will meet people I've never met before and that most of them will be good... Do I know for a fact that any of this is an ABSOLUTE? Not really... We truly Don't know if God exists but for most religeous people, faith is what makes us believe this higher being exists and that is all we need.
An athiest may not have faith in this higher being and/or the tennants of the religeous teachings, but I'm sure the atheists believe and/or have faith, that they are right in what they believe.

How can theists presume to know the answers to spiritual questions or to scientific questions?

The ones I see presuming the most are those that have already decided on what they believe and rigidly stick to it. Such as any fundamentalist religion.
Atheists are usually more inclined to think that some questions are unanswerable. Mostly its the idea that you can't say what the answer is so much as you can say what the answer isn't.

Atheists are some of the most spiritual people on the planet. We're also often more educated about religion than religious people.

This is because atheists are also spirit beings too, only that they are in denial of this. To make it simple, as long as you can read this message know this basic secret, that the words you are reading right now are spirit and are alive, this will remain the case regardless of whether you accept this as truth or not, whether you believe this or not this is exactly what the Bible says and most atheists might or might not be aware of this basic fact. This message is also prophetic of the nature of scriptures and the spirit of the LIVING GOD who lives through us who represent his will here on earth. All Honor and Praises to the Most High Yahwah who is the Creator of truth on earth and everything that exists. You are very lucky to come across this basic truth but its up to you to choose whether you accept it for yourself or not. That is why you are free humanbeing to choose to accept it or not. Yah bless you which ever way you choose.
