It depends how motivated you are to become a doctor if you have a love of science and helping people this will help to "desensitize" you which I think means it wont bother you anymore, but if you are just going into medicine to make mommy and daddy proud it may cause some problems but still I bet you could get over it.

Everything bellow this line is a rant

I think I read somewhere that a fear of blood and disgust at vomit are evolutionary, because the humans that stayed away from blood (probably on corpses) and vomit (from SICK people who they had to AVOID) so they had higher chances of survival.

So it is natural

Eight days after delivery it is normal to still be bleeding quite a bit however, it isn't normal for the bleeding to slow way down and then kick way back up again. If you are really active then it can cause you to start bleeding, but it shouldn't be a lot and it shouldn't be persistent. If you are passing large clots, then you should definitely go see the doctor, and don't wait about it. Excessive bleeding, often called hemorrhaging is a very serious condition that can lead to anemia and in very extreme cases, can even result in the need for a blood transfusion or death. Any bleeding that is heavier then one of your "heavy" periods after the first couple of days post-partum or any large clots, like the one you described, is a good reason to go see a doctor. If the bleeding really worries you, is heavy and persistent, or YOU pass any really large clots, it's OK to go to the ER if your doctor isn't close by or isn't available. No matter what, it would be a good idea for you to make an appointment--it's better safe then sorry I always say. :)

Yes you can. There are many different kind of Doctors however in your residency you may see blood. I use to be afraid of blood but then I got use to it. in school we were exposed to it all the time and like anything else you eventually get numb to it. Don't let it stop you. Don't let something like this stop you from what you want to do which is a choice that can lead you to a huge success. Be Blessed

You can desensitize yourself around blood. For example, you can elect to visualize the outcome of successful operations which result in good health to someone.

Read about visualization and blood desensitization on a google search.

Well, ask yourself, do you like seeing dead bodies? Depending on what medical profession your looking into, you might end up having to at least look at actual dead people, in some cases disect and analyze. But if you really want to be a doctor, go for it, one small bump in the road shouldnt change your passion for helping others.

You could get over that. In our first day of anatomy in med school, a girl could not touch the cadaver. A professor slapped her hand on it and then she was all right.

I don't know, but I do know that a lot of people become doctors because of ambition, which is disturbing.
