Blind faith is the only answer.

Just look on yahooanswers and see the dozens of perfectly rational questions the religious are faced with and anybody with an ounce of brains can see they have no answers or explanations for even one of them.

I mean in today;'s world medical and physical sciences alone have exposed and degraded the Bible and all of its content. from Genisis right on through.
Everybody knows none of it would hold up in court of law or any real scrutiny.
Yet you people cling to it like barnacles...unyielding...

Its OK with me. I just wish you wouldn't vote.

"Blind faith," huh? I disagree. Read some books by Christian apologetics. Make a search online for archaeological evidence and historical evidence that supports the Bible.

Medical and physical science has not degraded the Bible, nor has it disproven any of it. Show me that it has. Otherwise, you're just another person who THINKS they know why so many people believe.

And before you start with the whole "Well, science proved that the Earth wasn't created in six days" thing, that may be true. However, the Hebrew translation has the word "day" as "yôm", which can be taken to mean any period of time, including ages or millions of years. Therefore, even THAT was not in error. The Bible NEVER says that the Earth was only a certain amount of years old. That was a belief that ONLY came about as late as the 9th or 10th century. The Bible was in place LONG before that.

I also think it's possible that Adam and Eve weren't necessarily the very first (and only) people to inhabit the Earth in the beginning. I think that they were just the mother and father of the Jews, which is who the Bible was about at first. It would make sense that they would focus on Jewish history, rather than everyone else. It doesn't mean that there weren't other people in the world.

Apparently its not okay with you.

The fact that you are trying to debunk religion based on science is proof that you have some type of problem with religion.

But hey, when you stand in front of St. Peter and try to explain yourself...then I hope it was worth it.

What do you mean I cant answer any perfectly rational questions? Ask one...

Was the earth created by the universe through the "Big Bang"? Probably. No where does it saw HOW God created the earth. If he chose to have a cloud begin collecting dust and form into a solid over billions of years, then so be it. Prove to me that God didn't create anything by your scientific answer.

Was man evolved from monkeys? Nope. And your own scientists have to confirm this. No one has ever found "the missing link" that links man to a monkey. They can get real close, but they just cant connect them. Do they have similarities...absolutely. But, a tree and a blade of grass have similarities too. They both produce oxygen, the both use photosynthesis, they both produce green leafs, they both grow by taking nutrients through the roots...are they the same? Nope.

How about this... how about you stop trying to make something out of your insignificant, meaningless life by degrading people, or beliefs, that go against your own and just live your own life? Or is it just so empty that you cant stand it?

And Im pretty sure we have yet to see an atheist run for office...so how is our vote affecting you? You are the one that should NOT be voting till you can find some candidate that has the same narrow minded view as you? As soon as you vote, you are putting someone with faith in office. How can you live with yourself?

(I love when people ask these types of questions, btw.) =)

How can any sensible person NOT believe in God and religion in this day and age?

What day and age are you talking about? The scientific/modern age? But you are living in history. We have passed beyond that. Maybe you aren't aware that we are now living in the Post-Modern Age. And just maybe you aren't aware that many EVOLUTIONIST scientists are having major difficulties with Darwinian evolution. So much so that Stephen Jay Gould and Eldredge have proposed the hypothesis of 'punctuated equilibrium', better known as "hopeful monsters".

You also need to be aware that one of the best medical practice to control communicable disease TODAY is quarantine. If you were to check the Bible, you will find that this was proscribed 3 5000 years ago. Remind me again, WHEN did modern medical science learn about bacteria and virus? This is just ONE example.

Quite the opposite. Today's medical and physical sciences have shown even more the necessity for a God to exist. For example, The universe has been found to be expanding, if we rewind this backwards it is impossible for us to go back without hitting a point of creation. There are many more like this which has been helped by new science.

Many folks I know believe in God and religion because a human needs some sort of hope.It is evident our science and politics have made an absolute mess of the planet so the thought of an all seeing, all knowing, all loving God having it all under control is a comforting thought.

Many years ago I was driving close to my home when the Holy spirit directed me to a park.I followed the direction of the Spirit.
A woman walked up to me and started a conversation. As I got ready to leave the
spirit directed me to tell this woman not to try to commit suicide. At first she tried to be defensive and then she broke down and told me her life story and why she was at the park. She had come to try to take her life.
When science-Brains eventually get to the top of the mountain it will realize that God has been there all along.

Evolutionist and scientist should always question things because that is their purpose, just as my purpose was to witness. I believe sensible people will have to consider that God is real and maybe they do not know because afterall how can a house be made without architectural plans or how can a symphony be played without a musical score?

im not a religious person, but i think your talking no sence what so ever! people keep faith because it enriches their lives and gives them hope that death isnt the be-all and end-all of life. Islam states that that the 'big bang' happened, and other religions are not commiting an offence by offering other explanations.
i think the only thing worse than what you accuse religious people of being, is people like you who are trying to persuade people against it. theres no need. everyone chooses their own ways to enjoy and enrich their lives, religion is in my opinion a fantatsic way to do this. and whats wrong with religious people voting? religion stands for love faith and peace, surely every govornment can use these two things more!
im fine with you having an opinion, i just dont think you have the right to come on here and say things like that to religious people.

Only 16% of the world does not believe in God, though they're of different religions.

So you would not let people like Dr. Francis Collins, head of the Genome Project vote? You are scary.
