actually yes. if you'll reuse a plastic bottle, the chemicals from the water will stick on the plastic bottle and it'll be mixed with the new one(the water that you'll put on again). Plus, the plastic melts right?? when it melts it mixes the chemicals from the bottle to the water. ;] i think the effect is cancer.

As any container would, it needs to be cleaned and sanitized before reuse. Using hot soapy water should kill all the bacteria. Some people dont bother washing them because they feel that only water was in them. However, the bottle and cap need to be washed on a daily basis. I was told by medical professionals that they should not be used for more than a week because it is hard to get hot enough water to kill all the bacteria. We bring water bottles everywhere we go, and they can get very germy.

Yes after time the plastic will leach into the water, but the risk is small compared to all the other toxins your exposed to over a course of a day. Do wash it out every so often, especially the cap to avoid bacteria build up, but do not use bleach or chlorine or anything.
In my opinion the benefit to drinking enough water every day outweighs the risk of cancer that the bottle could pose.

We reuse our water bottles all the time. I just wash them with the rest of the dishes and we are all still here to tell the tale. We NEVER go to the doctor and don't get sick, not even colds. There are far too many people that say " don't do this , don't do that" you have to remember we need germs too. The people that are always going to the doc are the ones that " don't do this and don't do that"
