After Adam and Eve eat the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, why was their nakedness the first thing that popped into their heads?

Shouldn't it have been, "Holy sh*t! We just did a very bad thing"?

While we're on the subject:

If Eve ate the fruit first, why didn't she realize she was naked until Adam had also eaten?

I'm not Christian. I guess I was just wondering what the symbolism is.

because all those stories were made up for the sole purpose of social control. so now that we know we're naked without clothes, we should do just fine without all those stories.

It was the first thing obvious to them because (1) they were in fact nude and (2) they became aware of shame due to their sin.

Eve ate first...but their sin was not complete and consumate until she had Adam to partake and fall too. Had Adam taken a leadership role...as he should have... they would not have fallen from total Grace as they did.

It is not necessarily the first thing they realized.
It is the first thing reported.
It all revolves around the word 'shame'.
Beforehand, certain thoughts never entered their mind.
"Hey you're naked!"
"Yea! So what!"
Then:
"Hey you are naked."
"Oooops. Excuse me."
It was a reflection of how their thinking had changed.

That story is a lie, consult the ancient manuscripts that made the old testament, adams first wife was named lillith, eve was his second wife.
