I don't think you can compare it to the US, Australia or Europe. But, it is getting better. The food can be good, the economy is only good in spots, military and politics stink but the people and girls can be great.

I like it, the vegetables taste better and cheaper than what I have in Hong Kong especially when I visit those small towns or cities.

I don't care much about military / politics and girls, so far, my work goes smooth there and I feel pretty safe when I travel around China. The hotels are getting nicer too, in terms of services, interior decoration, the country is getting more modernized and improved a lot during the past 10 years.

Food, outstanding and cheap, except in five star hotels and restaurants, there you will pay western prices. Prices vary widely from city and province to another. A meal in Shanghai for $10 can cost you less then a buck in others.

Economy -- running on steroids. They encourage their people to go into business and reach their own version of the American dream.

Military -- modernizing, not for global conquest as they have about zero war making experience's since the mid 70's, but rather that they can afford too because of their economy.

Politics. Morphing from communism to democracy at their own pace.

Chinese women. If you want easy, go to the Philippines or Thailand, if you want devotion, China can't be beat, but tradition will beat the hell out of you getting there. There are exceptions to the rule, but the further you get out from the big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, the more traditional it is.

I have been to several countries in Asia and by far, I consider China to be the best.

For a better insight, go to my profile. I have a lot of China posts.

Signed, an ex pat from the USA living in China.

Peace

Jim

PS Gee, you did not say if you live here or Chinese by nationality. I do not find the Chinese evil nor the government. What I find that is evil is all the misinformation and taking old news and placing it in the present and calling it a fact.

although i'm chinese myself ,who lives in U.S. chinese food is still the best. espeically the food in China, its amazing. To US people, china stuff is pretty cheap. i love shopping at china because everything is so cute. the ecomomy in china has alot of diversity. there are so many poor people but at the same time there are alot of rich people too. but their level of living and food wise is such a big different. military , i don't understand why kids in elementry school or middle school has to go through military trainning. i think its pointless and a waste of time. as in politics, all i kno is everyone has went through the education of how we are suppose to help each other, love our elders and whatever but in real life no one does.

Not all that bad. No freedom of press, does have a different way of doing freedom of speach. Maybe more democratic than the US. Deffinitely better for business than the US. Huge gap between the rich and poor with middle class growing.
