I think the two most common seem to be envy and lust. They both can interfere heavily with relationships, and that can cause serious problems.

Lust. Without lust we'd have gone extinct. Not a deadly sin but a vital virtue.Gluttony- has it's down side ( death by obesity related illness) but has it's upside ( survival of famine ). Greed. If this is sin then America might as well just build an escalator to Hell.Sloth- not working yourself to death is a deadly sin? What if it lets you spend more time with your kids? What about working on sunday? Sloth does have some survival downs but conserving energy is often a good idea.Wrath- or Revenge if I may- Well, this is what you get when people are more interested in themselves than in others. The alternative to Wrath is Communism. I'm a fan of Communism but I understand it's not for everyone and I wouldn't want the forced version. Envy. Not much to say on Envy. Kinda tapped out. Pride. 2 types: the 'We're #1!' type which ignores our **** ups. and the 'gotta clean up my nation so it'll look nice for the immigrants when they arrive' kind which I admire. Or do I have Pride confused with Patriotism? Oh well.Me? I don't kick puppies ( except on y?aR/S ). This is a metaphor for 'I follow my conscience until it intrudes on my survival or comfort or luxury'- usually. And I also literally don't kick puppies.

Proverbs 6:16-19 declares: “There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: (1) haughty eyes, (2) a lying tongue, (3) hands that shed innocent blood, (4) a heart that devises wicked schemes, (5) feet that are quick to rush into evil, (6) a false witness who pours out lies, and (7) a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” However, this list is not what most people understand as the “seven deadly sins.”

However, know that these seven sins are no more “deadly” than any other sin. All sin results in death (Romans 6:23). Therefore if one is guilty of the "littlest" sin, they are guilty of ALL (not just "the worst... but ALL) sin. Pretty harsh, uh? Well, that's the way of our Lord.

But, of course, our sins are forgiven... oh, but that's another question!

It is not the sin it is the magnitude of the sin that determines it's destruction.

I can be envious of a vacation that a co-worker is taking but if I to not let that feeling be relflected in how I interact with that person, or how I conduct myself relative to doing the things I know I must do in my own life - then the sin has very little destructive power. If however, I let that envy lead me to deads and action which are directed by the eny then the destruction starts - I can hurt that person with uncaring remarks, I can hurt myself by letting that envy alow me to be distracted from what I must do in life. I could let that envy led me to doing physical harm to persons or property, and the down ward spiral continues.

Pride, as hubris (not merely self-respect) is I think most destructive to the individual - and vy extension to the community. Most of the other "sins" feed off it. To the community I'd add greed as most destructive. We're destroying the life-support systems, and much of life on Earth, with it.

The thing I like about Paris Hilton is her lack of pride.

The whole world is a ghetto? Not really, there is such beauty out there. Let's keep it that way. Pitch in!
