This must make you feel very suspicious and rightfuly so. You have obviously been with your partner for long enough to realise that this behaviour is suspicious. Although you are probably thinking the worst , and you could be right in thinking it is another girl there could be some variables you may need to take into consideration. Your boyfriend may be avoiding calls regarding agencies chasing him for money which he is to embarassed to discuss with you, or he may be in conflict with somebody who he wishes to have no contact with. Depending on how close your relationship is you may have illiminated these possibilities leaving you with other limited reasons which seems to be the case. If you truely beleive he is seeing someone and this is the reason the phone is on silent you need to address this with him. My advise to you is to aproach and ask him in a very calm manner. Tell him that you find it very out of character and ask what the reason is. When he responds listen very carefully and with an open mind. If what he says doesnt add up again very calmly express this to him and ask in order to put your mind to ease if he wouldnt mind if you could answer either some of the calls or if he is doing nothing wrong if next time his phone rings could he put it on loud speaker to eleviate any suspicion. If he has nothing to hide this shouldnt be a problem.If he refuses this, i am sorry but there is obviously more than meets the eye. I hope it is to avoid somehthing simple rather than the fatalistic. It might mean he wants to give you all of his undivided attention.

But since you are suspicious and posting on Yahoo! Answers I'm assuming you're thinking he may be cheating on you. Remember relationships are all about trust, if you think he is turning his phone on silent so that you don't catch him receiving phone calls from other girls, maybe it's time you reevaluate him and this relationship.

That could be a good thing, or not. It all depends on what kinds of interruptions he's trying to prevent. If you don't have any other issues in your relationship, then I wouldn't worry. If you already think he's going to cheat, or is cheating, then this is just more things to worry about.

Either one of these 2 cases:
1- He is fearing lest you should catch some chick calling him at the time your being with him.

2- He is totally showing that he is with you without any distractions and not even a mobile ringing would distract your moments with one another ... (I highly doubt this second possibility, simply coz boys are boys lol)

maybe he's being sweet and doesn't want to be bothered when he's with you! why don't you ask him! if you see a bunch of missed calls from other girls, then he is probably hidding something. otherwise, he might just want to spend time with you uninterrupted!
