I'm pregnant. Okay I know my hair will be stronger w/ the biotin and folic acid etc etc of prenatal pills while I'm pregnant. But I am frightened about the fallout process after birth. Judging by the fact that my hair has been sensitive to fallout before (due to years of dying though no blowdrying or other processing and never grew back in), I'm sure I'll experience this. Does anyone know how long it lasts (during breastfeeding, only a couple months...), if I should keep taking some vitamin pills to minimize the amount, and most importantly if it grows back?? I bet we're all different. I know a girl who lost so much hair after giving birth its less thick than the circumference of my pinkie! Any advice on what was done will help!

1) Talk to your doctor to make sure you get adequate nutrition after you give birth & while you are breastfeeding. Ask her to recommend what kinds of vitamins or supplements to take.

2) All of my friends experienced lush hair during pregnancy & lost hair after giving birth but it grew back just fine! Hair density & texture can change a bit throughout one's adult life because of hormonal fluctuations, age, etc.

The key is to be kind to your hair & take good care of yourself.

BTW, repeated dying can damage hair & make it seem thinner. You may want to experiment w/ highlights or lowlights to minimize the damage. They are also lower maintenance - roots are not as big an issue.

I lost so much hair w/ all 3 of my pregnancies. It started about 2-3 months after I stopped breast feeding and stopped about 2-3 months later. I thought I'd be bald, but that didn't happen. My hair is the same as when I wasn't pregnant. You should be fine.

yes. I recommend you buy the samphoo and conditioner NIOXIN, it's the best for people with thinning hair, you can get it at the beauty supply or some salons.
