In a lot of cases, I know when I'm going to come too. Granted, it's usually not 600 years before it happens, and sometimes it sneaks up on me. I guess if I used the Mormon logic, that makes me a prophet too.

What you don't understand is the concept of revelation. Nephi was a prophet and he received revelation of things to come. Jehovah made manifest to Nephi what was to come. He saw in vision the birth of Jesus as our Savior. He saw the foundation of the American society that we enjoy today. He saw the destruction of his own civilization and the coming of Europeans to take over this continent. He saw the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the instrumentation of Joseph Smith.
Amos 3:7 states "Surely the Lord God will do nothing save He revealeth His secrets unto His servants, the prophets." The fact that Nephi saw and wrote about Jesus is not proof of fabrication but proof of prophecy. Turn the logic around and it makes complete sense.
I invite you to examine the subject of revelation. It is real. I have had many revelations of my own. I know it works.

Because he received revelations from God. That proves that the BOM is true if it was written 600 years before Christ and they knew that he would come to the Earth and give us the gift of His atonement. That's a no brainer if you have a little faith.

Because Joseph Smith translated it that way. Joseph wasn't dumb to think I will write Jesus's name 600 years before Christ was born and put in a name supposedly to fool people.
The urim and thummin instructed him to translate it that way into english. Just my opinion.

There are such thing as prophesies, and such things as revelations?
Does it bother you that people believe in the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Don't you believe people have their choices, just like you.
Or is it only you have the right not to believe, and God believers should not have the right to believe.

Jesus liked appearing to people after and before being born - he had special 'administrative rights' to bend time, space, and screw with history.
God also had a quirky sense of humor: inviting people over to the "promised land", make them go thru hell to get here, then let total wars on annihilation take place that destroy every shred of evidence down to the last pollen seed.
Meanwhile, god allowed civilizations to continue to grow, flourish, disappear (but leave all kinds of trash) in Europe, Asia and Africa.
Those two - what a couple of guys...

it could be, but people did know when jesus was gonna come. so if you know someone is gonna come, wouldn't you know his name?
but you're right, it could be further proof that the bible is false.
