I get blocked ears sometimes - my doctor will not syringe my ears either. Instead she put a really long hook right into my ear and pulled out lumps of compacted wax. It was slightly uncomfortable but not painful. It was great when it was over, I got my hearing back! Mine we so blocked, the doctor could not see my ear drum. Go back to the GP - if possible, ask for a second opinion. Blimey, you should not have to suffer like this for such a routine and simple thing to sort. It's not like your GP isn't getting paid enough - makes my blood boil - what do they expect to do for £100,000 per year. The other option is to go to BUPA and pay but obviously, this will cost you and why should you have to pay. Be persistent on this don't suffer - you pay your taxes.

Could be a build up of ear wax, i have got the same problem i have to get them cleaned out at least twice a year, you can do it your self by putting some drops of warm olive oil in your year for a few days then get a syringe and keep blasting warm water into your ear, do it in the shower or over the sink you will be amazed at what comes out, but it will be best to go to the local surgery first so thay can have a look in your ears first.

Yeh, I know how that feels.
I had that and the first thing you need to decide is, is it wax in your ear, in which case some warm olive oil or drops from the chemist will do the trick (feels a bit wierd though)
The other thing is a bit more tricky - glue ear.
Usually after a cold the little tube between your ear and throat gets plugged and that causes an internal blockage. It'll clear up by itself, usually, but I had it on a plane and boy did it hurt, so see your doc if it persists!

It could be your sinuses. Do you have any pain or headaches? Do you have pressure on the left side of your face? Or did you go swimming recently and get water in your ears-the water should eventually come out if that's the case. If you have sinuses, I recommend Mucinex-it is the absolute best. If you have too much wax build up you can get Debrox Ear Drops but remember wax is good for your ears so don't mess with them too much and don't use q-tips-you're not supposed to clean your ears with q-tips just use ear drops. One of my friends was obsessed with cleaning her ears which made them worse and caused blockage.

Could be a number of conditions. Could be wax build up there is a product at the drug store to fix that. You could have what they call fluid on your ear. This requires a trip to the doctor to get some medication to resolve. If you try the first and it does not work then you should go see the Dr.

You can buy an over the counter medication called Debrox that you can use as needed. Just put three to four drops of Debrox in your ear canal overnight and gently flush with ear bulb (provided in package) using warm water. If this doesn't solve the problem then I would definitely see your family physician...

Earex or one of the other over the counter meds should work great they just soften the ear wax clearing any blockage and usually have aspirin or something similar as well to help with any pain
