Forget it you pathetic jackass, if she wants to join shes gonna join. The only reason you don't want her to is because you know after she's a Marine she'll just kick your @ss for pissing her off so much.

I agree with the comments already made. If she is mentally and physically capable, she is GONE! Out of the life of those trying to put road blocks in front of her, and into the loving arms of her new family who will show her how to leave a boot print and smoking debris of barriers behind her as she moves forward with HER life. Depending upon the career path SHE chooses, she may not ever go close to a combat zone. For that matter, she may not ever set foot into the sandbox.
If she is an 'ex' girlfriend, sounds like she left you for a good reason. If you REALLY care for this future Devil Dog, you would be encouraging HER, supporting HER goals, and asking the almighty to be with and look after HER. You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. At the rate you are going, SHE will remain your 'ex' on multiple levels....'ex' girlfriend, 'ex' friend, 'ex' thought in HER mind.
Once SHE gets to basic training, your days are numbered! NO one likes a person that pisses on their parade,,,ESPECIALLY for selfish reasons. Come on man!? There is WAY more to the military than shooting and killing. There's medical, logistics, journalism, food service, administration, finance, legal, etc. Women still don't have a full and total range of options. With the skills she learn in the USMC, she could be a future doctor, start the company that puts FedEx and UPS out of business, the next Oprah, a world renound chef, a CEO, a lawyer, etc. Leadership skills along with specialized skills will make her not only one hell of a woman, but one hell of a HUMAN BEING. All you see is blood and death....her death. While you are trying to piss on her parade, you may be pissing on your own. The military also teachess TEAM WORK. If you are the man in her life, she won't hesitate to 'check' you and help you keep pushing in the right direction. Let this marinate in your mind. Her leaving for Paris Island can be the beginning for both of you, or the end...for you. Sorry I can't say 'wish you luck'. I hope you FAIL! Your failure could mean her success.

Not wanting your ex-girlfriend to join the Marine Corps is understandable, especially if you have not been a member of the US Military. Restrictions: assuming she is physically fit and mentally capable of performing in one of the career fields, she should not encounter any difficulty in joining. I have three daughters, two are in the Air Force. One for six years and one for ten years. One of my daughters is with Combat Camera. Once again, I understand your fears. However, put aside your concerns and attune yourself to her wants and needs. Perhaps she has chosen the Corps for her own reasons and not those of her ex-boyfriend or anyone else in her life. A true friend always encourages a friend once their mind has been made up. Throw away the negative aspect of your feelings and look to the positive aspects of her decision.

Sagarow, you are right in not wanting her to go in the military. If she wants to mistreat people tell her to join the police force. They do the same thing ans she would get to stay in this country, unless of course she wants to get away from you. That's the only reason I can think of, that she would want to do a stupid thing like join the marines. Or maybe she's in the closet and doesn't no it yet.

First of all : there is not a reason females cant join Two : if she can pass the written and physical test then she will get sent to Parris Island for three months if she makes it through the training then she will be a Marine --- Semper Fi -- Now for you - you lazy good for nothing - maybe you should be going also instead of trying to stop her.

Its not your call and as an "ex- girlfriend" why should she care what you think? There are excellent reasons for her to join the Marine Corps, not the least of which is pride in yourself and your accomplishments and in being part of an organization most people respect. You should support her in her desire to become the best person she can be.
More power to her, and welcome aboard.

Not your place to find reasons she can't join. You are very selfish for even thinking along these lines.
It is HER life, not yours. You should be proud that she is willing to take on the challenge of becoming the few and the proud.
If I were her, I would keep my distance away from a control freak like you.

I think its kinda lame that you dont support her. You know if she joins she will be the just as tough as the guys , only 5% of the marines are girls and only 1% of Americans can carry the title of being a Marine. I proudly join on March 16 of this years and im 5 foot tall and weight 105 pounds but i know ill be just as tought as the guys when i get out of basic .

There are no restrictions. Man, they are even letting ex-convicts get in and who knows who else.
They outsource the training of the military to civilian personnel.
The only reason we are over there is to complete an oil pipeline that started with the invasion of Afghanistan. Afghanistan has quite a large reserve of oil and we needed to invade them to start getting the pipeline going. Then we invaded Iraq so that the oil pipeline could be completed.
Next will be Iran. It's just a matter of time.
Let her know that as much as she feels like she'll be patriotic, she'll be part of the oil hungry cartel that wants to dominate the world.

If she is your EX, what concern is it of yours. I know several former and present female marines. They are all filled with pride. and confidence. All of them are successful in life. Why you don't support her is beyond my knowledge. It can only be because you secretly are jealous or envious, or you cant come to terms with the fact that she is over you, and dont want to be with or like you for the rest of her life.
