When you say you got very good results- do you mean body fat percentage reduction? Generally, doing various forms of cross training will keep the body guessing and burning more calories and recruiting more muscle fibers then sticking with the same type of routine.

resistance training offers far more benefits to the endocrine system, skeletal system and to skeletal muscle than does cardio vasucular training. in terms of fat loss there is a greater 24 hr caloric expenditure after a session of resistance training than when the same amount of time is spent performing cardio only.

for optimum health and fitness a variety of exercises should be performed. cross training has always been the way to go

do both .. you can even do some kind of light cardio work before you work out [jump rope] or [jog] for a couple minutes. it gets your heart rate up before you work out .. instead of the first couple of sets being slow and awkward. running will work good on you days opposite of working out .
