Alright, so I have this guy friend who I like and I texted him and told him so. His exact answer? "Ok whatever"
What is that supposed to mean? We're good friends so I'm pretty sure we wasn't just trying to blow me off as like insignificant or w/e and I get that he probably doesn't like me back ,but WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Please help.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure he knew I wasn't joking because I replied "Did I just totally ruin our friendship?" and he said "Nope." He's a really nice guy and we're good friends and knowing him, I don't think it was just a 'whatever, I don't care' type of thing..or was it? What do you guys think?

It wasn't an "I don't care" thing. It was just kind of difficult for him to respond to something that immense, so he retreated into short phrases that more or less expressed his feelings without having to commit to anything more deeply explanatory. In the future, try to have earth-shattering conversations in person, or at LEAST over the phone.
It means he doesn't feel the same way, but he doesn't want to hurt the friendship. Just leave it lie, if you can.

thats just how like all of us guys answer questions just because we don't want to get into a long conversation!!! too me it isn't like so is saying that im not intested in what ur saying ist just that guys have alot of stuff on there minds to so just chill he's probley just stresses out

hey wats up this happened to me once with a girl, she would just say ooo ok, and thats it, but , it was because she didnt believe me, so i told her in her face ": hey its for real , i like you" and after that we went out, so just tell him until he understands its not a joke, P.S. select as best answer

k heres what i think if some1 told me they liked me and i was embarresed because i liked them 2 id tell them "ok whatever" and also thats why he answerd later "nope" if ur still good freinds. so all it means is that hes embarresed and probally likes you to
