To me, it means that when "I" live my life the way most other people do because it's the "in" thing to do, there comes a day when I look back and realize that that is not really who I used to be. It's like giving in to peer pressure or "going with the flow" because I want to be liked/accepted, and not following my own heart and being my own person. After a while, a person tends to realize how many decisions were made based on others and not on our own internal desires.

The person has traveled down that road many times. And now, he's walking down the road, he realizes he has changed a lot. He's different. Life or whatever the road signifies has changed him.

When I walk down a much-traveled road, I realize that I no longer am the person I used to be.

well to me it would signify
When i walked down the road, that i have walked down so many times, and so many others have travelled by, it suddenly occurs to me, that who i am now, is not who i was in a past time.
Meaning they have gone through life, and now they have a different personality, and they don't act how they did when they were younger.
it is a poetic way or shortening something that could be quite complex. It is written poetically... it sounds like the end of a novel.
It makes sense.

It means that the person followed everybody else instead of doing their own thing like they started out to do. Having come this far, it has become a habit to be conformist.

That you have changed from what you used to be, grown up, adapted more to your current situations in life. It could either lean to being a good thing or a bad. Depending on how you view it

the "road much traveled" is the path we each take thru life
the author is recognizing his own growth on that path.
