The truth is you are making sense. God does not torture anyone for eternity. God would have failed to redeem all mankind if just one soul is lost forever. This is one very important reason why I do not believe in the Doctrine of eternal punishment.
Those who are sent to the lake of fire will be purged there. They will suffer for a time but ultimately be reunited with God.
The words "forever", "eternal", and "everlasting" mean certain things to us in English, that the writers of the Bible never intended. Those words are mistranslations. The truth is Jesus really has saved everyone.
He is the "Savior of everyone, especially of those who believe" 1 Timothy 4:10

First of all, God did not create human beings imperfect. Adam and Eve were perfect (morally and physically) but fell into corruption due to their sin. Second, even if 99% of human beings end up in hell, God is still victorious because his justice is vindicated by punishing unrepentant sinners.

That's not it at all. God created humans (limited, imperfect, free will) because there would be no point in creating other such as himself because he was already around beings such as himself. Humans were the only way to go. If we were created as him we would already be in Heaven (why would god create other perfect beings and put them in a world?). There would be no point. We are God's children and being his children that makes him our father. In being our father, we are to obey, trust, love, and serve him as we do our earthly fathers. Since God's gift is so great and he is so perfect, the punishment for neglect of disobeying, disbelief, and disloyalty has to be equally bad as Heaven and God are good. When you disobey your parents, you are punished (not forever and as harshly, because your parents are human beings too; they are also limited and imperfect). So when we dishonor God and make no effort to remedy it, we are punished by God as he can only punish us. His punishment of Hell is eternal and infinitely horrific because God is eternal and infinitely good. Your may ask, "if punishments are here to help us learn from our mistakes then why would God eternally punish us? We would never learn from our sins." Well remember on earth we are growing and aging and learning. A punishment here on earth is for learning purposes. When we die we are then in our eternal states. God's punishment is the end of life because the gift is the beginning of life. So be ready for the death of your body. Remeber that God does not want you to go to Hell. Your destination shouldn't be Hell anyways. If it is...remedy it.
God bless.

Romans 9:21-24
Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

Hell does make sense.
Remember there was no hell untill the first sin.
God made us to be human.
He made us just the way he wanted to.
i think you answered your own question.
The reason there is a hell IS because of free will.
We are humans.
We sin.
We have the opportunity to ask God for forgiveness.
Those who do, share in eternal life.
Those who don't shall parish.

Hell makes a lot of sense if a life review is mandatory and God allows hell to be self-inflicted.

God is far from defeated. If He wanted us to be robots without the ability to make our own decisions then we would be, but He doesn't. He wants us to follow Him, but He also wants us to make the decision whether we're willing to pick up our perverbial crosses and follow Him. God doesn't send anyone to Hell; they send themselves by choosing to follow their own lusts and desires. The only people who are in bondage to sin are those who allow themselves to be.
Hare Krishna- Heaven is every bit as eternal as Hell. Seems fair to me...

no hell does not make sense, and by the same token, neither does heaven.
We are all of us, a part of the totality that is God, there is no possibility of separation from that totality, there is only the shift of consciousness from one plane of existence to the next, still remaining a part of the same totality.

That is why i reject the abraham religions of Islam, christianity and Judasim. These religions have full of un-answered questions.
From the Vedic(Hindu) perspective:
There is a Real world full of Non-Material living beings..we are from there. So when we choose to be independent of God, we want to enjoy on our own, we are put in this Material Universe so that we can enjoy our desires on our own. This Material Universe is like a Prison. So God gives us the facilites to enjoy. Since we are given full independence and decided to Love God, than God takes us back...Under the cycle of repeated birth and deaths, the Lord gives us the enviroment to enjoy our desire. So if one day a person says..enough of this material desires, i want to come back...Than the Lord Takes you back.
This is why reincarnation is important, because The lord gives you many chances to come back to him..Unlike the Christian Eternal Hell..Only one chance one life..too bad if a person is born into a pagan family...if we don't repent he goes to hell and dwells there forever forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
Sometimes i wonder how on earth can one believe in such a horrible and evil notion...Of Suffering in hell forever.. and Worst a devil roaming around and tempting people. How can a person with a sane mind believe in this ??? Simple because his intelligence is covered by fear..
One should surrender with intelligence not surrender your intelligence.

God is not a dictator, He wants us to love Him voluntarily and not by force. So many chose death over life and there is nothing , that God will do about it.
