Not exactly sure what you mean by "judgmental" here...

God, being God, is sovereign over all. Therefore, He ultimately sets the rules and determines whether or not we meet those standards--so, in that sense, He is "judgmental".

Of course, none of us meet His standards, because we are human beings. Therefore, we depend on Jesus Christ for our forgiveness and salvation. He was crucified for this reason--for our sakes. He did for us, what we couldn't do for ourselves--He made us right with God.

Our motivation to be "good people" is a response to this sacrifice. To put it in more immediate terms, think of it this way. Say tomorrow, you put yourself in harm's way--you were insulted, publicly humiliated, tortured, and then killed--all to save me--this in spite of the fact that just yesterday, I intentionally smashed your car. What would my response be to your actions, particularly in light of my own? Would I be rude to your family? Would I never think about you ever again? Would I continue smashing people's cars? No, of course not...I'd feel ashamed about smashing your car. I'd go out of my way to help your family. I'd tell reporters how great a person you were. I'd donate money and time to your favorite charity in your memory, etc. I wouldn't do these things because you made me, or because I was fearful of you or your family's "judgment"--rather, I would do them out of extreme gratitude and appreciation. Same way for being a Christian--we are motivated to do good works in Christ's name out of gratitude and appreciation for His sacrifice and His love.

What does judmental mean? The common use of the word today is something like hypocritical judgment. God is not hypocritical, but He judges sin and those who commit it. The motivation is not even fear of judgment. The motivation is God the Holy Spirit who takes up residence in all who follow Christ. Without salvation by faith and the residing Holy Spirit no one can do anything good (the Triune God of the Bible is the standard of good).

The motivation I have to be good is that I will return, be born again, and suffer the consequences of my acts in future lives over and over, until I give up being stubborn and decide to be good. Being good here is spiritual progress, which means reaching the level of enlightenment of Jesus, that is love people unconditionally, forgiving those who hurt me, helping those who need, being patient, tolerant, work toward peace and harmony. Are we like that? Nobody is, that's why we need several lives. That's what gives me motivation to go on trying, although I accept the fact I am not perfect yet.

God is not judgmental. He is fair though. You do something, you will face the consequences in a future life.

Peace!

God absolutely is judgemental. He is a just and forgiving God but only if you do it His way.
His way is through Christ, otherwise ,you will be judged and found totally guilty at the GREAT WHITE THRONE judgement in Revelation 20 :11 ,everyone there is guilty,no one gets off.The righteous are not at that judgement.

Because God created the law of cause and effect. You pretty much knew the answer already. :)

Besides, people ARE judgmental. You will get to justify your actions to yourself eventually, and generally, we are our own biggest critics.

God is the Creator of everything and when He decides , He gets to judge everybody , but He is just and fair.
Abiding by any law, but the law of God is not going to keep us out of hell.

God is the ultimate judge of this world. He will judge each and every one of us. One day every one will stand before his throne and account for our deeds. God's judgement is completely just. Whatever verdict he pronounces, it will be completely fair. The only thing that will get you aquitted is having the best lawyer there is. Jesus. If Jesus stands for you then you can get into heaven. If not, well you know.

To keep your conscience free of stress? If I do something wrong my belly churns and it eats at my brain for ages. I dont like feeling that way and I dont like others to be frightened/angry with something I did or caused. The motivation is, to feel at peace and happy within yourself.

Nobody actually knows what God is, or is not. Where did you come up with "God is not judgmental "? Who has met God?
