OK. I'm turning 30 in 3 months. I remember in my early 20s i used to drink like a sailor. Well, I stopped drinking for a while because I guess I grew out of it. I started drinking again but I can never finish even one glass. It puts me to sleep! well, one day, I said to myself hey, you used to be able to drink all night and still be coherent let's try drinking more than one glass. well, I did and I felt violently ill, puking and stuff. My question is what happened? how come I can't consume alcohol like I used to?

Why do you want to drink that much anyway? You are old enough to have a little wisdom. There is no need to revisit the 20-something years. The 30's are the BEST years of your life, and you are NOT an alcoholic! You have an advantage.

Really, what is the point? When you are a kid and trying to have a social life, well, you can fall into that trap. You got out of it. So my question is WHY do you want to drink like a sailor?

Enjoy your single drink once in a while. What is the problem with that? Besides, you save a lot of money that way.

Heavy drinking is nothing but a DEAD end.

Our bodies do change as we get older. Your body isn't use to consuming that amount anymore. Maybe if you kept drinking and didn't stop like you did, you might have a better tolerance for it. But since you stopped drinking, it made you where you cannot tolerate it any more.

Personally, I have never been able to drink red wine at all because of the sulfites and the natural melatonin in it; it puts me to sleep. I can drink everything else, but that. I use to drink alot too when I was in my 20s, but I decided one day to not go over a 2 drink limit. I stick to that limit the majority of the time.

What difference does 'why' make? Your body is telling you to not consume alcohol. That is good. Do you know how many problems alcohol can cause...from hangovers in the morning to alcoholism to prison to mental institutions to death?! Thank the Good Lord above that your body is saying 'no' & for God's sake & for your sake LEAVE IT ALONE !!!

How do I know?...My life has been destroyed by alcohol ...in & by others. It affects the life of the one who drinks it AND the lives of the ones around those who drink. Trust me...it isn't worth it !!!

You have got to build up your tolerance again. Try drinking a couple drinks a night for a while. You will be a rock star again in no time.
