The Silverado SS licks out 345 horsepower from a 6.0 Liter Vortec Max and clocks in at 14.ninety 9 seconds interior the a million/4 mile. The Mustang has a 4.6 liter V8 yet is constrained is to extra effective overall performance by way of its 5 velocity tranny it outputs 3 hundred horsepower and does the a million/4 mile in approximately 13.5 seconds. With those numbers in concepts, you may likely take the Silverado SS by way of fact of its weight element, however the adaptation isn't some distance, so while you at the instant are not on your sport at that christmas tree on the a million/4 mile ) a real horsepower attempt), then he ought to sneak in an embarrassing win.

Tires, tires, tires. There is not an easier way to improve track speed then tires. Invest in some Nitto drag radials for the rear tires. You wont believe how much this will help your speed. Obviously slicks would be even better but with drag radials you can use them at the track and on the street so you that way you arent buying tires you can only use when you go to the track. You can add cold air intake, cat back exhaust, gears, a chip with a tune, and some torco fuel additive to raise your octane. You can probally buy all of this and have it installed for around 2k. With tires and the above mentioned mods, you will be able to run your stang around a 12.7-13.1 1/4 mile time depending on your driving skills and track condition.

depends on the 1/4 mile # u want...
if u only want inprove only one second, go with ford racing drag pack.
if u need 2 seconds, replace ur exhaust starting with headers and finishing with mufflers. (expensive) and throw some pulleys, k&n cold air, electric waterpump, carbon fiber (expensive) and a legendarry steeda short throw shifter
the best way to push a gt into 11s is a procharger. i had it on my 07 with 569 rwhp and was getting into 11s on a regular basis with 20 inch rims and tires..... then tuned it up to 730rwhp and was waiting for my motor to blow up.... and it did shortly........ hahaha.... i was just havin some fun with it....
then bought a new teksid longblock from shm and hell lot of cool parts along with it... the motor only is great for 1200 horses....
installed a twin turbo and a ZEX TRIPLE MAXIMIZER KIT... hahaha...
the hood, bumpers, doors, fender and the trunk are out of carbon.
now making 900rwhp and running high 9s on 20inches
hope it helps

take the carpet and sound deadner out so you can push the pedal a little farther
take out the back seat and spare tire to save weight, for every 100 lbs you gain a tenth
lower the pressure in the rear tires to 18 lbs and raise the fronts to 45 lbs, traction is everything
take out the air filter
buy premium gas and add a octane booster
the first one was a joke

1) If Mustangs reign supreme, why do you need mods?
2) Look into replacing the engine computer.
3) Look into replacing the rear end
4) Get stickier rubber

Body work will not make your car go fast. Just knowing when and how to shift is key.
