Definitely. The difference is once you have mastered relaxation techniques you can use most of them anywhere, where yoga is a site specific method in many cases. But both will help you learn to relax.
Look up progressive relaxation techniques on Google. These have been used in the field of mental health for years. The more you practice the better you have the ability to recover the relaxed state.
Like a melting ice cream cone, relaxation techniques are progressive through the body, from the head to the toes, one step at a time. Add white noise, calm and quiet music in the background but not rock or rap, to block out sounds that could interfer with your progression.
Yoga used similar methods but also has specific positions to enhance those techniques.
Both do use slow, concentrated deep breathing and that is one technique you can use anywhere.

First, find out what is making your anxious. If it is something that can be fixed or you are feeling trapped, get out... Anxiety is bad on a person's health. Yoga will help if you are unable to get rid of the stress causing the anxiety issues. Speak to a therapist or trusted friend if all else fails...

Yes and you can feel even better by practicing Vipassana meditation. Do a Google search for it and you should find a site that teaches you how to do it. It takes practice and some getting used to, but the benefits are unmistakable.

When I took a Yoga class, it did. I almost fell asleep at the end when we were cooling down. I shouldn't have stopped taking them.

it can relax your mind and help lower blood pressure, but I recommend aerobic exercise--it does more for you. The main thing is to find the source of the anxiety and deal with that.
