that you've completely missed the tone of the question? For instance, having typed a serious response only to read the question again and realize it was a joke. Or typing a joke response only to realize the questioner was probably serious? Do you limit your loss and delete your answer or do you try to change it to make it look like you didn't make the mistake?

When in doubt I try to read the avatar listing and get a feel for where the person is coming from. If the person is just here to ridicule then I move on but if their Questions backs up a serious person then I give a serious answer.

Yes, I have done it before. I erased and gave different response.

I usually edit the question by admitting my mistake (usually leaving the original answer intact) and give a better answer.

Sometimes I just delete my original answer entirely, if I realize that there is no point in answering.

Have you ever took the time and care to answer a question the best you could...from your heart, and when you tried to post your answer, you find that the question has been deleted?

Yes, I hate that. Especially when I have what I think to be a really well thought out answer. When I go back to fix it(I always do)it just never turns out well..

If I don't have an answer, I don't generally offer an opinion but if I had errored and God saw t, I have no doubt that he would laugh.

I apologize if I joke to a serious question, and add on to lighten up if it was a joke.
