NO. You should never take more than 2. If that isn't working you need to go see a doc for different pain medication.

I wouldn't do it. Even though you have built up a tolerance it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm a chronic pain patient and know that you have to be very careful with these type of meds, especially if you are taking anything else with them.
I curious though? Why didn't your doctor prescribe you 10's? All you are doing is wasting money taking 2 5's. Unless they aren't prescribed by a doctor??
Anyway, if you are seeing a doctor, he should have changed your medication a little sooner to take care of the tolerance problem, and you should wait and not do it on your own.

normal directions for that medication are 1-2 tablets every four to six hours as needed. You should never exceed 6 tablets per day as this medication is hard on the liver due to the acetaminophen content. There are other factors to consider to, such as your age, weight, etc, therefore you should ALWAYS consult your physician before making any changes in your medication regimen. As with most medications in this class, after a while, you will need more to achieve the same level of relief. I would advise you to speak with your physician about a different pain medication or maybe he/or she could refer you to a pain clinic. Again, PLEASE consult with your MD before making any changes.

I don't think I trust taking more than 2 at a time. I know your used to them, but I think that's a tad too much. I'm not a doctor though, just a Mom who thinks I could advise on this.

yes...your body builds up a tolerance and you may need to have your dose increased....if your getting a prescription for them. if not....taper off for a while so your tolerance goes down for a few week's to a month, the they will work again.

No; your math is wrong. Your actions would result in a dose equivalent of .....12.5/500.
