dont get your GED get a high school diploma getting a GED shows you are a quitter and SEALs and the marines do not want quitters i cant speak for the navy SEALs but i know that most marine recruiters will not put a GED holder in even if they have the college credits and if you do get in im pretty sure you will be DQ from the recon contract and if you are not you would need a GT score of 105 and with out atleast a high school diploma it is doubtful you will get that unless your college courses focus in math btw recon is HZ contract if you get a SEAL contract and fail you get assigned any job the navy gives you same thing for the recon contract the only people who just fall back into infantry are the ones the go in with just a regular infantry contract, get chosen for recon, and fail then they fall back my advice is screw both the recon and SEAL contract pick a service you want to be in, not a unit so if you dont want to be in the Navy dont try and be a navy SEAL its not very smart even as a SEAL you will be in the navy spending a lot of time on ships go in without a spec ops contract and prove yourself that you deserve a shot and you will be given one prove that you deserve it rather than just signing a piece of paper saying you deserve join the marine corps if you want to be a marine, then go after your career goals also recon marine is not as glamorous as it may seem, it is a great line of work but most people just want to join them because it is considered special ops. they are purely a "snoop and poop" unit. which means you go into an area, observe for a few days, and leave thats it you dont go busting down doors. i leave for the marine corps in less than 2 months and i have an infantry contract and i was considering trying to become a recon marine. now im not too sure. my dad is a marine officer and he talked to a friend of his who is an infantry captain and just left for MARSOCs Marine Special Operation Batallion (MSOB), my dad asked him what he though about recon and he strongly reccommended that i do not go that route. they have been having a lot of problems lately and it is not what it used to be. he said that if i wanted to be special ops to wait a few years until i qualify to try out for the MSOB. Good luck with whatever you decide but no matter what you decide i can guarantee you that you will have a tough time without a high school diploma

You dont, you join as a recruit, then apply to do the Seal course and if you meet their enterence requirements they will allow you to come along to do the training, then and only then will they and you know if you have what it takes.

Talk to a Navy recruiter; if you meet the minimum requirements (ASVAB, fitness, etc) they should be able to write it into your contract.
