This is the deal, My older brother who is 30 just started to date a girl that is 17 years old. Me and my family have been trying so hard to make him break up with her before they get in trouble. First her parents dosen't even know that she is dating a 30 years old. Second the girl hasnt even graduated from high school and she just turned senior. Third she is caucasian and we are mexican-american and we don't even know anything about her parents, they could be prejudice for all we know! But yeah he is messing with her future because she is still young and who know know what her parents will do if they found out he's 30 years old! What would you people do or say to him or her??

Since your brother is an adult, your parents can't control his behavior. However, since she is a minor, her parents need to be told. Your parents should tell your brother that they will be arranging a meeting with the girl's parents in a week. Your brother then has a choice. He can either break it off with this girl or go to her parents and tell them about the relationship himself and hope they don't press charges.

It makes you wonder, why would a grown man want to date a child?

That is a tough one. There is probably no answer that could not backfire. He is an adult and should know better and would have to know it could be illegal and a bad idea for everyone concerned. What if it was his sister? How can he do this to his mother? How can he do this to this girl? She is 17, it is not okay. Does he realise just want the penalties are for what he is doing? He is the one who will end up in trouble, and everyone will be hurt in some way. Even if you can get him to break it off, it could still end up badly. Maybe at the end of the day, all you can do is either wait and hope it works out, or do something to break them up for good reasons and hope he does not end up in trouble. All the best.

Sometimes you gotta go above and beyond (even our families) heads to stand up for what is right. The rest of the family is going to have to alienate him so that he sees how serious the issue is, and that you mean business. He is not only jeopardizing his own and this young naive girls future, he is making the whole family look bad by his conduct. It's not exactly normal for a 30 yr. old to want to be involved with a teenager. That's probably why there are laws against it. You are all gonna have to take the tough approach, and let him know that if he continues with this behavior, then he cannot be a part of your lives. Otherwise, whatever consequences he faces, then let him suffer those alone, as he is choosing to make this mistake alone.

The family needs to sit with your brother and let him know what he's doing is against the law. If her family finds out the cops will arrest him for rape. Man tell him to get out while he can. Also being with a "little" girl she might just go to her family and cause problems herself for your brother if he tries to break up with her.

OK, your mother needs to sit down with your brother and try to talk to him. If that doesn't work, call the girl's parents, anonymously, and tell them their daughter is dating a man much too old for her. If your family can't get through to your brother, maybe her parents can get through to her. If all else fails, call the police. The young woman needs to be protected.

I would tell you that first of all, he is in danger of sexual conduct with a minor. Secondly I would tell you that the parents of the girl will be livid, and the mans' life is possibly in danger. The girl is potentially in trouble, but the man is in trouble for sure, and he's in the kind of trouble that could put him on a sexual offender list, or endanger his life were he to end up in prison, which is very possible.

People don't take kindly to sex offenders so you need to explain that to him. No-one has sympathy for a grown person (man or woman) messing up a young persons life for sexually gratification. They could not have anything in common. So if he doesn't listen , you have to write a letter and send it to the parents. Don't put your name on it. Or you will be hiding a crime.

Your brother is facing rape charges depending on the laws in your state. However if he won't listen, there is nothing you can do. He's a grown up, and the consequences are on him.

So inform her parents of everything. Prejudice or not, he has no business with her.
