All of the weight loss sites I look at recommend lean meats such as pork and chicken. I can't afford to buy pork or chicken. It's SOOOO expensive here. I do have a freezer full of elk meat though (DH hunts). What else is considered a lean meat other than chicken? I want to lose weight.

Turkey is even more expensive than chicken.

Also can't do ANY soy because I have a thyroid problem.

Deer meat is as lean as it gets. I would assume elk is the same.

Anyweight loss plan should include daily exercise. Start slow and increase every day. For example, walk .5 mile a day first week, .75 mile a day second week and mile the third week. Build up to a 2 mile walk in 30 minutes or less.

Seafood.

But if pork and chicken are expensive, seafood, including fish, will be outrageously priced.

Tofu is nasty, but it's a good source of protein.

When I was in college, I couldn't afford meat, so I adopted a vegetarian lifestyle. Following were my protein sources:

Beans
Nuts
Nut Butters
Whole grains (Spelt, Quinoa, Whole Wheat Cous Cous)

Pork is not a lean meat, even when most of the fat is removed.

As you seem to be from North America, then Deer , rabbit or snake. If you were from Australia I would also recommend Kangaroo which we export.

You haven't mentioned one the leanest meats around - tuna.
It's relativelly cheap and can be fixed up a number of ways.
