Which airline is better, American Airlines or Continental?

There is no better because an airline could be good in one city but not the other. Also a whole airline cannot be blamed because of 1 or 2 people, and I have found this a lot. Though I would prefer Continental because they still serve meals, at least something other than pretzels or salty snacks.

Continental for sure. I have found AA has the some of the worst service.
ExpressJet flies for CO. They are contracted to fly under Continentals name. They are now flying routes under their own name. They use the RJ's which are the small jets. I think they are very comfortable. They are used on all routes, not just short flights.
