Windsor heads have narrow valve covers and the valves are all in a straight line. Cleavland heads have wide valve covers, the valves are canted and the intake valves are closer to the intake manifold. The exhaust valves are closer to the exhaust side. The Cleavland intake ports are kinda oval while the Windsor are rectangular.

The Cleveland is a small block with certain modifications. The block is extended forward and the fuel pump bolts directly onto the block. The Cleveland head (also the Boss 302) has canted valves. The valves are tilted and rotated in the head so they are no longer in one row. The valve cover on the Cleveland has eight bolts. The valve cover on the Windsor has six bolts.
The easiest way to tell them apart is that the bolts holding the fuel pump on are oriented vertically, one over the other, in the Cleveland. The Windsor has them oriented horizontally, side by side.
The firing order is that for the Cleveland or Boss 302.
The Windsor firing order is 15426378
Old Fart Ford Racer
I have built and raced both engines.(also the big FE and 385 series engines)
All 351's are small blocks

Someone has been giving your wrong information. The higher the number the more gas you'll use up. The V stand for the way all 8 cylinders are aligned in. The most common alignment is a 60 degree angle which resembles a V. Four cylinder and very few 6 cylinder engines have the most efficiency and are aligned in a straight line. The six cylinder in a straight line is called a straight six. But a V6 is 3 cylinders on each side in the form of a V. A V8 has 4 cylinders on each side. Some manufacturers are trying to make V6 and V8 engines obtain the fuel efficiency of 4 cylinders by shutting down 2 or 3 cylinders during highway driving to save fuel. On the flip side, the higher the number the more power you get from the engine. V8 engines are known for their horsepower and torque. However in the tuner market "4 cylinder street cars", people are finding accessories to make 4 cylinders perform like 8 cylinders. I hope this answers your question and makes you a little more knowledgeable when your out buying a car.

Also, the Cleveland and Windsor are types of 351cid engines. There is no 302 Cleveland or Windsor. For the rest, see above. Good luck.

Windsor and Cleveland are 351 engines. And yes they came with 4 barrel carbs. If you have a 351 Cleveland, the intake manifold from a Windsor would fall down between the heads and sit on the lifter galley. The Cleveland is a big block. The Windsor is not.
