If a high school friend asked you out and told you that he liked you for 2 years would you be flattered or feel uncomfortable?
This is assuming that you only like him as a friend and are really shy.
Would you tell him no right away or wait until another day?

This happened to me and now things are really akward.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm the guy.

It's only awkward because you are making it appear that way. Why are you shy towards him if you only like him as a friend? Don't prolong it, when you see him just let him know that you like him as a friend.

I would be flattered but also uncomfortable because he liked you for so long but never told you. I know it's uncomfortable especially since his infatuation for you has lasted so long but you should tell him that you like him as a friend. To be easy on him tell him that you like your friendship and don't want to ruin it. Invite to hangout after a week with you and your friends to show that it doesn't make you uncomfortable. It's embarassing enough that he's been rejected, if you're weird towards him it'll only make him even more embarassed and upset.

it actually depends on what kind of friend he is. i have many guy friends and im usually the shy one. i may be flattered, but i would have to think about it because sometimes it may take time to get used to having different feelings for a friend.

well, i was totally flattered when a guy told me that, but i did wait a few days to get back w/ him on that. that was 8 years ago, and he's still here.

I've personally learned from experience that revealing a hidden several year love to a girl who you've befriended through school or something usually scares them. This has nearly ruined my friendship with two girls, but now I only talk to them during the summer.

I would tell him how you feel right away. The longer you wait the harder it will be to tell him, and besides it isn't nice to lead him on anyways. If you don't have romantic feelings for him don't try to make them, feelings like that just happen. Good luck.

If it was a guy, then uncomfortable. A girl flattered. if you are a guy, and if not ,then just turn it around.

Just dont show that you are uncomfortable...
tell him/her I ll think about it, then in a couple of days
tell him/her politely I m sorry i just dont feel that way about you, and I dont wanna lose your friendship and I really care about you.

i'd be FLATTERED and i'd go out with him.
once you get to know him on another level, you'd be surprised...you just may like him too. give the poor lad a chance. if all else fails, you STILL have a friendship.
