You aren't consuming all the sugar, which has cut down on your carb intake. Then remember all the preservatives and junk in the soda isn't good for you anyway!! My friend has done this too and she has lost 5 lbs!!

Assuming you drink regular soda:
The reason soda and other sweetened drinks (even fruit juices!) are unhealthy is because they contain lots of calories, yet don't make you feel very full. So you're gaining weight quickly without recieving any nutrition when you drink a lot of soda. And I know you're not aiming to lose weight, but gaining weight is unhealthy (unless you're TOO skinny of course) because it causes many problems such as risks of heart attacks, high cholesterol, etc. As for actual ingredients, the main bad thing in soda is the ton of sugar, which is not good for you.

But even if you drink diet soda, which doesn't have sugar, it's not necessarily okay for your health or your diet. The artificial sweeteners in diet soda are unnatural chemicals that you're putting in your body. Some people have no problem with that, and just because it's unnatural doesn't mean it's bad... so I'm not necessarily saying that diet soda is actually bad for you. But there have been various studies that indicate that it is. Some studies (which actually have been mostly disproven recently - but it's good to consider anyway, I guess) say that the artificial sweeteners cause cancer. More recent studies have shown (and not yet been disproven, far as i've heard) that somehow, artificial sweeteners send off some sort of signal to your body that makes it not realize it's getting full, so you tend to eat more calories than you normally would. That's pretty weird, and even though any study can be wrong, it definitely makes me not want to drink diet soda.

So good for you for cutting soda out of your diet! I'm trying to do it too, and I'm doing ok, but I still go for it every now and then. Good luck with your healthy eating and drinking!

Regular Sodas have been linked to Obesity, Tooth decay, Caffeine dependence, and Weakened bones.

Diet Sodas are much worse! They can cause neurological damage that mimics MS, they have more caffeine, and they have been shown to cause cancer and obesity in lab animals. Diet soda trick your body, making it think you had a sweet, your body makes more insulin to deal with the sugar, that isn't actually there and in the long run end make you very hungry.

Avoiding diet soda would prevent you from ingesting all the fake sweeteners and other chemicals and abstaining regular would help you avoid all those empty calories from the sugar and help prevent tooth decay. Some people believe carbonation is bad, but I love San Pellagrino....and Diet Pepsi.

Your body has been effected in the following ways:

1. your intake of unhealthy fluids suchs as high fructose corn syrup have been lowered meaning that your body is not producing fat from it and there fore you are healthier

2. also your sugar levels have dropped which reduced your risks for diesease such as high blood pressure

3. and finally, your kidneys have become healthier because your kidneys work over time to take out the effects of pop so you're giving your kidneys a break

4. one last thing, your teeth are now healthier because of the drop in sugar intake also

all in all, you have accomplished much in your decision to cut pop out of your diet!

when you eliminate soda, you stop the flow of preservatives and radicals in your body from that drink. Soda is full of toxins and unwanted calories and processed sugars. when you stop drinking soda, you get rid of a major sugar intake. this will result in less pimples and break-outs on your face. so good job!

You now have less sugar in your blood which would have caused your Kidneys to work overtime to get rid of it.
