My dream is to be a Navy seal. Ive always wanted to be one my whole life. But, i promised my mom i would go to college and to be a Seal u have to enlist. Should i go to college, get a degree, then join the navy and follow my dream, or, join the navy right out of high school and go for my dream and if it dosent work out, go to college after. ( i have a 80 thousand dollar college fund)

No, you do not have to enlist to be a SEAL

Entering training to become a Navy SEAL is voluntary. Anyone can volunteer, and officers and enlisted men train side by side. You merely have to be an active-duty member of the U.S. Navy

You could enter ROTC in college and get a commission in the Navy. You could then join the SEALs as an officer.

That's entirely up to you, dude. No one can help you out with something like that. If I were you though, I'd just go to college and then enlist in the Navy after you graduate if you still want to go. That way, if being a Navy SEAL isn't as great as you thought it was, you'll have something to fall back on.

Not to be disrespectful to your mom,but YOU have to live your life, not her.

Answer yourself this question:" Am I ready for college??
Just keep one thing in mind. You go to college, realize it's the wrong decision,so you drop out after a year. No big deal.
You join the Navy and realize it isn't for you,
you don't just "dropout" after a year without some very, very serious repercussions, some of which may haunt you forever.
Here's a compromise:join the Navy reserves,a couple months away from home, you truly love theNavy and you can go full Navy.

take one evolution at a time and finish high school. If you fail BUD/S or you get dropped, your not going to be able to just leave the navy. if you dont think you will make it as a SEAL dont try because with an attitude like that, you wont make it past indoc. goto college then if you still want to be a SEAL, join. make sure you know what your doing first

That's a decision for YOU to make. Many will tell you to go to college. Some will tell you to follow your dream. In the end, you'll get mixed advice and you'll still be left making a decision. But if ya can't decide on your own...

If I were you, I'd go to college first. But ultimately it's your decision. I hope you don't let the folks on YA make the choice for you.
