I was raised a christian (luthern) and have noticed so many terrible errors in people on here. One person stated "god gave the devil dominion on earth". Got sent the devil to heck. He doesn't even rule there he's stuck there. One person said "cancer is a gift from god". WHaaaWhaaaWHATTTTT!!!??? I am no longer chrisitan but am still appauled by these people ignorant of their own religions. How can they be this way?

I have read the bible and it does state the devil was sent to hell. It says nothing about dominion over anything. I challenge anyone to find a verse that states different.

Some peoples usage of the word ironic is ironic. Irony is when the implied meaning of a word or statement is differnt than the actual meaning. Hence comparing spelling to understanding would be ironic.

Well stated. I believe that the Christian Religion has been twisted by man. Each denomination has their own interpretation of the bible. Some take the following from 1 Peter 5:8 as giving the devil dominion on earth. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" Religion for some reason becomes a sore subject, people think their religion is right and know one will be in heaven who does not believe as they do. Be safe.

God did not send satan to hell. He was thrown out of heaven and is allowed to roam the earth until the time Jesus comes back and THEN he will be put in hell for eternity. Check it out....that's the real story.
I'm not sure where you heard that cancer is a gift from God but I can assure you it's not. While God did create all things, sin has perverted and distorted many of the things God made. Sickness and disease is a torment from satan to get people to believe that God doesn't care about them. (I guess it's working.....)
People often speak without actually knowing what they are talking about....not just about religion but about all kinds of things. Instead of being offended by it, you should arm yourself with the truth. The next time a Christian person says something that you find offensive or think is untrue, why not ask them to tell you where in the bible it says that? If they are a true Christian, they should welcome the question and be able to support their beliefs since that is where they should be going for their information.
I hope that your choice to no longer be a Christian isn't based on the inconsistancies of idiots claiming to be Christian or because some people have made some mistaken claims. That would be very sad and kind of ignorant. I hope that your decison was based on a true study of what Christianity is what it means to really be a Christian and then you decided not to believe.

LOL...it's kind of ironic that you ridicule other Christians for their lack of understanding when you can't even spell "Lutheran". If you were to ask, these people could probably have given verses to support their statements, even if you would not have agreed with the interpretation. Meaningful dialogue is possible (even here) if you take the time to ask the right questions.

i dont know about that. but youre right, same here. that's why if i can ill answer every r&s questions here, but unfortunately they are getting worse and worse everytime. but its not a surprise my friend. the world is blinded because of this dark world. and that's when we christians make our entry . the Lord said we are the light, so we ought to shine and make them see the truth. is that ok for you

Peter denied knowing Jesus 3 times and Jesus acceptrd him back into Gods kingdom...You can do the same thing friend...I have also been so mad at fake christians, read you bible and ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you personaly, ten keep your mind on Him, not the fake christians, then you will understand the love and peace of God....He died for you, give Him a chance...Lov ya

How can you be ignorant on your own belief? What they believe, simply because it does not align with your own thoughts, does not mean it makes their thoughts incorrect. Everyone interprets the Bible and religion in their own way. Remember a little tolerance goes a long way.

When satan the devil offered Jesus " all the Kingdoms of the world" for one act of worship [ by Jesus to Satan] Jesus of course refused, but Satan could only offer these Kingdoms [ civilizations/governments/countries] IF HE OWNED THEM.
And since Jesus has been enthroned as King of God's Kingdom [ in heaven, but not yet on earth] ...satan has been ejected out of heaven DOWN to us.

As to cancer, it is because we are IMPERFECT.
Adam and Eve WERE perfect, and we are FURTHEST from them.
so our IMPERFECTION is the WORST/MOST since then.
