i would say no because they're fried in oil plus they usually contain a lot of sugar.

Problem is, there are two ways to fix plantains depending on whether they are a green plantain or a ripe soft yellow one. The green ones (to make tostones) have to be fried in about 2" oil about two minutes, then drained, flattened and returned to the oil to crisp up and these are like a fritter. The yellow ripe ones (to make amarillos) are the ones you can cook in a skillet with just a spray of non-stick is you must but I still prefer to cook them in 1" oil and they are sweet. I think it's not too bad, just don't eat them every day.

Fried plantains are healthy if you avoid the heavy oils and use Olive Oil or Oil spray.
They are even more healthier if eaten as a part of a well balanced meal.

No, they are fried (too much oil). Pretty yummy though.
Baked plantains (yellow) can be healthy if you can figure out what to substitute for the butter before baking. I have some plantains to experiment with but it's too hot to bake, darn it!

I would choose sunflower seed oil and wouldn't recommend something that just says vegetable oil. It's necessary to keep the oil fresh or dump it if you suspect any sign of rancidness.

Nothing fried is healthy.
Everything fried is fattening.
Oil has 14-17 grams of fat per tablespoon, so figure it out from there.

Healthy and fried do not belong in the same sentence.

You don't need much oil, even an oil spray would work fine. It is all that sugar and honey people add that pile on calories.
