I also find Stigmata to be interesting.
...but may interest me for reasons other than why it interests you...
Ask yourself if stigmata, bleeding Eucharist, crying statues, appearing faces on walls, etc. are true signs from God? If they are, what is the purpose behind such strange occurrences?
What type of person do you notice being in the center of such signs and who are they who are marvelously impressed?
What are you (and others) going to use this demonstration (or sign?) as a basis for? Your belief in God?
If you are a christian, did not Jesus say that it was a perverse generation seeks for signs and thus the stigmata should not be used as a basis for following God.
Even if you are not, Buddha took this one step further and would not even allow his disciples to perform miracles, for signs by themselves have never lead to enlightenment.
Also consider the following:
"Their one pointed visualization of the suffering of Christ accompanied by a desire for approval from God can indeed manifest some interesting phenomenon.
It is not a sign from a God who is out there on a throne, but a sign that we are reflection, or in the image of God, and all the miraculous creative abilities of God are within us."

Just as someone else said, I believe that people can go into a radical state of belief that they manifest the wounds. If anyone has seen any articles and videos on true stigmata, it is interesting that they have wounds in the palms of their hands. Theologians have done a great deal of research and it had been decided that Christ wasn't nailed to the cross through his palms since any amount of weight would tear through. But these people continue to manifest the stigmata in the palms.
Jesus said with enough faith one can move mountains. So what would be hard about starting to bleed on or around Easter?

I don't think anyone holy enough to get the gift of the stigmata would hang out on Yahoo Answers. Look up Padre Pio, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Rita of Cascia. They were all famous and confirmed stigmatists.

Studies into stigmata have shown that is extremely easy to fake and the people who claimed to have it had the easy to fake versions. It's pretty much been entirely discounted. If it's so easy to fake something, why assume it's real?

It's a false subject. It never happened to anyone. If anyone says so they are not telling the truth.

No. I do not believe in it. I do however believe in self-mutilation as a penance for ones sins. Talk about taking it to the extremes.
