It is a bit difficult to learn turkish on your own. Try to find a class. But don't worry, after a while it becomes simpler. Turkish doesn't require a huge vocabulary, also has no grammatical gender so if you can learn basic grammar rules, you don't have any problem.

Dept. of Agriculture has courses in person and they may have online. Also check your university or community college for non-credit. There is also berlitz and rosetta stone "learn on your own" products.
