Seems to me that everyone answering on here has something dumb to say...like its a "liberal" ideal...that somehow the scientists that have made the statements are liberal and that is the only explanation for global warming.
Could it be that the CO2 emmissions from our vehicles...no, our way of life is having an affect? Is it possible that the pollution that we are dumping into the environment could have NO affect???
Come on America...stop making this a right or left issue...this is about our kids futures. or maybe its just me!?!?!?!

You are an idiot!!! First, I'm not a liberal nor am I a conservative. I'm in the middle like most of the American population. Second, if you want facts do some research before you run your mouth. 99% of pollution is caused by what??? Please enlighten us with your knowlege....or are you getting your news from the Republican website.
Grow up my friend, do your research, think for yourself, and stop being a republican puppet. How does it feel to have a conservative hand up your.....you know the rest.

It's not just you and yes, there are some incredibly dumb comments on here. The skeptics may be vocal but they're a small minority. If we look at the most recent Fox News poll then 84% of Americans consider global warming to be a serious threat, the most recent World Public Opinion report shows that 85% of Americans consider global warming to be 'important' or 'critical', up from 76% some 18 months ago. Globally 92% of people consider global warming to be a serious threat.
In short, the skeptics are small in number and that number is shrinking, at current trends there'll be none left by early 2009 (we may need to put them in a zoo and preserve them as an endangered species).

You and the politicians you voted for are making this a political and liberal issue and ignoring the science. Cars cause very little of the total green house gas. Do you know what the largest supplier of green house gas is? It's water. Even if everyone in the USA stopped driving their cars completely then it would only reduce man made pollution by about 1%. Net effect 0% drop in global warming. You should get your facts straight by doing some reseach and stop trying to blame others who understand more than you. You should also stop blaming America. Maybe you should move to China and try to help reduce green house gas because they produce more than us and in a few years a lot more. Why do you concentrate and blame USA and cars when 99% is caused is from other sources. Come on, this is just a ploy by liberals to get your vote and money. Everyone wants clean air but let's focus on what really causes this and not waiste our votes and money. I think that this is an emotional issue for you because you are scared and spoiled. This is probably a control issue for you. Please stop trying to control others and focus on yourself and making yourself a better person. Then you can be happy and not bother the rest of us.
Thank you.

"now we just have to convince the 90% of the Red, Republican, Retards to admit fault and take responsibility to start a change, "
Hey, that helps. Calling them names is really a great way to win people over (not).
Did you ever notice the chart Mr. Gore uses to show that CO2 and global warming has the wrong association? It shows global warming precedes the rise in CO2 by 600-800 years. When the Earth warms the oceans release more CO2. It's not an increase in CO2 that causes warming. Science is reporting the Earth is not the only planet in the Solar System warming at this time, and scientists that are not making money by touting human causes for global warming seem to agree it's the increased sunspot activity that is the cause. Or do you feel humans are somehow causing warming on Mars and Pluto too?

totally agree, some people are just retarded thats all, and they use "oh its a liberal agenda" and "its a democrat scare tactic" that is all bull. it is Global warming, not an american political showdown. the worst part is all the red states and red people are stuck in their ways. they still have the mindset that humans are too insignificant to change the planet, or too small. and historically speaking this was true, however it is not anymore. But that is a major psychological jump for us feeble humans to make, we started to realize it when we made the a bomb, because that was the first time we realized that we do in fact have the ability to destroy the planet. it never happened, so we went back to buisiness as usual. slowly but surely we are altering the planet, and you are right in stating that it is not about left or right, it is about our grandchildren and theirs.
glad to see another person with a brain on yahoo answers
now we just have to convince the 90% of the Red, Republican, Retards to admit fault and take responsibility to start a change, instead of makin **** up to claim it is all a farce, they have spent more money trying to spin global warming into a right vs. left, then it would take to upgrade and "greenify" many of the most polluting factories and buildings. they would rather spend money weasling out of being DEAD WRONG, then just biting the bullet, admiting they are stupid and moving forward, to use the money they were gonna waste on improving the situation at hand.
i dont get it. is admiting you were wrong and moving forward just too big of a hurdle for the GOP? for the idiots who still dont belive humans have the capability to warm our home?
it is a simple numbers game, high numbers, high levels, equals high temp, it is not that difficult, i cant see why they cant see...

I think a lot of people are just arrogant to the fact that their cars are emmitting a lot of Co2 into the air. I don't however know if ninety percent of Yahoo! Answers users are.
I would just like to say that if you really want to make a difference on this issue, typing a complaint as a question on Yahoo! Answers is not going to get you very far. Try getting involved in the community.

Probably it is 90% of the U.S. population. Most people over 21 love their cars, and these are the same ones raising those under 21, I think many of their ideas will be transfered from one generation to the next. Young children get driven in SUVs wherever they need to go, then they are told to recycle and save energy (what?) The ads don't help, because they urge you to buy more cars and other "stuff." It is what you get used to. My grandparents had no vehicles for a while, then they had one. The kids walked wherever they needed to go and hardly anyone drove to the grocery store.

Is it just me or are 100% of the folks on Yahoo answers oblivious to the environmental effects our computers and the Internet have?
Seems to me that everyone answering here is continuing the cycle of needless energy use, consumption of endlessly upgraded, environmentally-toxic component laden computers, wasting time talking instead of doing.
Come on world...turn off your computer. Close your bank and credit accounts. Sell your house and belongings and crawl into a dark cave to start your life of hunting and gathering tomorrow. I hear Antarctica is going to be a tropical paradise!

I agree with you completely. I still have trouble trying to convince people in my family that this is a real problem much less trying to convince people on here. It's scary to really think about how much pollution is going into our environment and the affects it will have on the next generation.

Neither. There are only a few children going through puberty denying it in order to get people to pay attention to them, and some others who will always live their lives in a "beer commercial". But they don't account for 90% of the folks, just 90% of the noise.

It's not just on Yahoo! And let's not forget another huge contributor, airplanes. No-one ever seems to talk about the amount of pollution caused by them.
