We are planning to get a new car/SUV soon and we want a fuel efficient one because my sister just got her licens and is now going to drive my moms car. I was thinking about an Escape Hybrid, and my dad has the ok on it because he likes the style and the mpg (31-36 mph), but my mom hates any American made car. I have told her that Ford has now beat Nissan and is equal to Toyota in quality and that they have earned the most awards than any car manufacturer in the world. She still hates Fords and will only choose something Japanese or European. I was also thinking about a Lincoln MKX, which my dad has the ok with that too, but my mom wants the bland looking Lexus RX350. How will I convince her to at least look at a Ford?

2n1 and the ither people that favor Jpanese cars, it's not your car you're getting. It's ours. If you love Japanese cars so much, move to Japan where they're everywhere and stop bothering us that actually have pride in our own country.

Your mother should do some research before she disses Fords. Ford has plenty of cars and suv's to chose from. People in america should only buy american made vehicles. THis just makes me upset. All there doing is ruining american jobs by buying Jap. made cars. Tell her to look at the new taurus that they just brought back. Very nice car. Ford has the lowest recalls compared to toyota and the other car companies. I'm a proud owner of a 07 Explorer and i wouldn't buy anything else. I work at Ford and i Drive a Ford. Just tell your mom to go to a Ford Dealership and at least look at them. You never know, she might just change her mind and realize what a bad mistake it would be to buy anything else.

It's a great American made car that will last you a lifetime. My first car was an old Ford LTD. I still have it today and it still runds like it did back in the 70's. They will last a lifetime. Many other car makes are not near as dependable as Ford. I have a Pontiac and I've had nothing but trouble. Ford is definately the way to go! Best wishes!!!

People have preconceived opinions about things and a closed mind. So you can't use reasoning, facts , or anything logical to convince her. If you want to try, then good luck.
You may remind her of the cost difference, show her the IIHS safety ratings for the new Fords.

If it makes a difference, tell her that I'll get her an 'X' plan number, I have a few left. That should be 1% over invoice, if she decides to take a look then email me.

If she's not interested, then forget about it. good luck. Thanks for trying to keep American's working at American jobs. And not sending the profits back to Japan.

Well who's paying for this car?

All I can suggest is reading as many reviews as possible about the different suvs that you guys are considering and try to pick one that is all around really good for your (or your mom actually) needs. But in the end, the person who buys usually decides!

Remind her that this is a major purchase, and remember that teenage drivers(especially new drivers) are accident prone. Then look at the safety features: There's a reason the ford slogan is `Built FORD Tough!'Then check out www.motrerweek.com and do a comparison between the 2 (or3) SUV. and keep pushing the Hybrid part!
Good luck! (:{ )

She must be smart the only one in my family that likes ford flunked special ed.If it's going to be her car let her get what she likes and if she's smart it will have a trunk for you to ride in so she won't have to listen to you whine.Just because I respect the fact that your mother wants to choose her own car doesn't mean I like japanese cars.I prefer chryslers or chevys myself and by the way my dad is a retired ford exec and I own one ford one dodge and one chevy right now absolutely no imports.Quit thinking your smarter than everyone else and let your mom drive what she wants and if you don't like it take up walking. Also I can tell by your writing and your if you don't like my way of being an American attitude your going to make a fine republican when you grow up just remember they hate unions free thinkers don't.

$4 hundred continues to be multiple funds. She would be having problems justifying spending that plenty funds on something she basically sees as a toy. i be responsive to i could no longer get my dad and mom to purchase me pastime consoles while i grow to be youthful... if it rather is the money element, see in case you need to get her to possibly chop up the value - %. up a job (in case you could) or greater chores and earn the PS3 (or a minimum of area of it) the previous-formed way. interior the period in-between, save your grades up and all that. exhibiting her you're mature sufficient to shield your prevalent jobs would help assure her you're no longer likely to completely decrease to rubble and flunk out of faculty in case you do get a PS3. finally, remember that those issues get greater low priced as time is going on. next year, the PS3 will in all possibility drop to $3 hundred, and it rather is not as though the video games (or video clips, even) are going everywhere...

Wht would you want to pay more for a vehicle that will break down in half the amount of miles? I'm sorry but Ford has went downhill since the mid to late 80's. They are having constant problems with their hybrid vehicles. Hybrids are costly to maintain, and you dont really see much benefits from them. You may get 30 MPG ACTUAL from this vehicle. If you look at something from Honda, or Nissan, or even Toyota, you will get the same gas mileage without being a hybrid, and have better reliability.

Tell your mom to leave and move to Japan then you and dad get the Ford and dad gets a break. That's called killing to birds with one stone.
