Yes if you are in your and your parent's home and some one breaks in and you are fearful that you and your family are in immanent danger for your lives than it is legal for you to use anything at hand to defend yourself.

I don't know what Virginia law says, only Cali law. However, laws wherever you go are basically the same. They're designed to protect.

If your state law says you must be 21 years of age to lawfully own a handgun (as it does in California) then you must be 21 to own a handgun.

Regardless of your age, if you're placed in a situation where you're threatened with great bodily injury or death, you may be justified in using deadly force to defend yourself. If that is the case, based on the totality of the circumstances, I don't think your age will play a factor in the legality of your actions.

I don't know about Virginia's gun laws, but in Indiana you just have to be 21 to own a handgun. There isn't any law against using one while you're under 21. If you ever had to use one for self defense I doubt you'll get in trouble for it, though.

As far as i know, you can not carry a gun. If your parents on the other hand, kept a gun in the house, and a robbery were to occur, you would have every right to shoot the person. I don't know how the police would handle the situation if you were carrying and shot someone (even if self defense). It depends on the cop, the cop just might take the gun and not give it back.

Reguardless of your age, you are an American. You have the right to protect yourself from harm. It being a handgun would probably be the only legal quirk for your age. I'd say keep a shotgun or rifle at home instead.

No, I am from Northern VA, and the only weapon that I could legally have was a shotgun. Because of the current laws, you have to be 21 to have, regardless of whether its in your personal home or not....

A gun dealer would be in violation of the law if he or she knowingly sold a gun to a minor, in which they have to run your social in order to legitimatly purchase a gun. Therefore eleminating the issue of illegally selling to a minor.

If somehow you get your hands on one when you're in the fight, yes. You have the right to shoot the person attacking you.
