I've been buying ranitidine at Costco for a really nice price the last five years. My dad's doctor has him taking about five of the 75 mg. pills a day. Neither of us can find the cheap generic, but we can find the expensive Zantac. I live in Texas and he lives in Iowa. Did the factory burn down? Did they have sanitation issues? Am I going to go broke getting rid of my heartburn?

I think it must be a factory issue of some sort. I live in texas as well, but I travel weekly across the US, and it's not to be found. My wife and I relied on our supply from WalMart, which currently doesnt even have a shelf spot for it. Target is all out as well, but fear not...it looks like it may return around July 8th to July 11th, at least at Target. I noticed that their empty shelf spots were marked with dates, and the pharmacist told me thats when they expect more.

MY dr presccribed me Zantac 150 mg tablets, but I know that by prescription you can also 300 mg tablets. If you have a dr, maybe ask about a prescprtion, instead of over the counter. I do have insurance but 180, 150 mg Zantac cost me about $12. I think the regular price is about $25.

i think you should ask for a new prescription. There are other drugs that has the same effects as ranitidine. I dont want to name those drugs. You should ask your doctor on what drug he/she could prescibe when there is no ranitidine in the market.

Sometimes drugs go out of stock or being banned for use since it causes other fatal adverse reactions. You should ask you doctor for an alternative.
